  1. Very sad news x
  2. Jimmy for sure. Bobby James is a great vocal but his grunting and straining puts him second. Would still get me up clicking my heels though. BNF is quirky which I do like. Mystics does absolutely nothing for me, never has, complete pants x
  3. This is such sad news x
  4. So sad xxx
  5. So unbelievably sad. Rest in peace lovely Sue x
  6. What a shocker, so sad. My love to Pat and everyone xx
  7. I haven't read the book but did attend the lecture and in all seriousness it wasn't great. They may be respected in their field, I honestly couldn't say, but soul scene academics? They couldn't have been more off the mark. The only one who actually seemed to get it was Lucy Gibson, and Ady of course. The audience gave them an excruciatingly hard time and rightly so
  8. So very sad. Still recall racing round Marsh Farm mid-week trying to find a working phone box after receiving his lists, rereading while running just in case I missed something. Rest in peace John x
  9. Winston is one of the people I remember most from being a young pup at Jon Buck's RSG events. Rest in peace Winnie x
  10. Billy Webster - Good People - Silvertone
  11. Jeez, can't believe that was 2010! Was an interesting lecture, we were a tough crowd lol I have the PowerPoint presentation for Lucy's lecture somewhere and her synopsis. Apart from Ady of course, she was the only one that got it.
  12. I was just thinking about Pete yesterday. This is so sad, rest in peace lovey xxx
  13. Jeez, had this 25 years ago or more, can't for the life of me remember who I sold it to. Of its time (Stafford) and can't say I miss it and definitely wouldn't buy it now which is the real tester for me, no regrets Edit: just remembered, I first heard on a tape from Duncan Morris (sure that was his last name). He was from London
  14. Maurice Williams - Being Without You - Deesu
  15. One of the finest soul records ever recorded and my favourite live performance ever. When he sings "and they'll tell you"... goosebumps at the ready...
  16. Camaro's first for this girl with the Continental boys second, love them both x
  17. I remember him at Stafford; well, Stafford train station in the morning a couple of times. What I will say though is he cut and pasted my comments about Pete Lawson etc from here without the courtesy of asking. More than a bit cheeky at best, lazy and unprofessional journalism at worst. Bought the book after being made aware of the above, haven't read it though lol
  18. What Steve said, he's absolutely gorgeous Peter x
  19. That's awesome Steve!!! Colours are amazing x
