  1. Well I'd giver it foive
  2. I don't know how you can say that almost every 70s record released by Grapevine is crap. 1 star for Leo's Sunship. You must be joking!
  3. The remix of Quiet Storm was also really well done on that CD.
  4. I suppose.
  5. That's not a posh place really. I've been there for a firm's xmas bash. Very messy and not at all posh.
  6. Nice clip of folk dancing to Chapter 8's "It's My Turn" at 37 mins followed by Phyllis Hyman
  7. Thanks for that. I didn't know Ricky Tomlinson was a ventriloquist
  8. I was there that night. It was my first ever allnighter north of London. The modern room was great too and there was even a crossover room. I didn’t know what it was then and I was further confused when someone played “Tune Up” lol. I remember going on another occasion the following July and the allnighter couldn’t open until after midnight as there was a wedding reception going on. It was a lovely evening though so remember sitting on the grass outside chatting to Dave Thorley and a few others until we could get in.
  9. I think anyone who is tempted to pay a ridiculous price for a relatively recent record, should seriously consider buying the CD instead and get the "False Faces" track too thrown in.
  10. Brilliant record. RIP
  11. Yeah, that's right. there were multiple packs of 100 for £40 on Ebay. I bought a set. Some excellent stuff and some cheese in there too (Blame It On The Boogie on CBS lol). To answer the OP's question, yes there would be interest because they're great records but they're not rarities by any stretch of the imagination.
  12. RIP Bill. I didn't know he was white. So what's the A side like? Is it totally different?

Actually Dan country music has a lot more in common with soul music than you probably think. There was a great thread about it on here a while ago.
  14. HMVs are almost as hard to find as record shops these days
  15. Oh dear. If this is among the best of the recent rare discoveries, we must've passed the best a long time imo. It's alright but nothing special.
  16. I can't get this episode to download from my iTunes subscription Mick. Is there a problem with the file?
  17. I've got mixed feelings about the concert. When they were good, they were awesome. Particularly when they sang My Favourite Person and Darling, Darling Baby - they had the place rocking. I didn't think the playlist was exactly what I wanted. They didn't sing some key songs like Message In Our Music and Put Our Heads Together. The performances were great from all three. I was particularly impressed with Walter Williams. I was disappointed that the show was a bit short and there was no encore. For £50 you'd think you'd get that. I still had a great time though.
  18. Is it just me but I didn't think they were that great on Jools Holland. Ages has taken its toll unfortunately. Hopefully, they'll be great when I see them tonight with a proper concert setting.
  19. It's Lou Rawls "Dead End Street"
  20. That Japanese cover version clip is hilarious. It's terrible in one way but quite brilliant in another. It put a smile on my face too. I see Frank Wilson also got played at Anfield last night immediately after the final whistle.
  21. Straighten It Out by Rahsaan Patterson on the After Hours CD is not listed and is an absolute killer.
  22. RIP Bob. So many great songs. Jessica James & The Outlaws "We'll Be Makin' Out" springs to mind. I'm surprised his passing hasn't had more news coverage.
  23. I used to get hand written lists from Paul Depsi around 1984/5. Lots of great stuff there and I dread to think of the stuff I passed on because I didn't know them at the time. I was only in my early teens so £8 for a "Quick Change Artist" on Karen was a big ticket purchase for me at the time. Especially as my mates only bought stuff on reissue labels like Inferno, etc.
  24. Thanks Chris. Yeah, I love it too.
