No matter what the Genre, the Band or the Artist, pretty much all music can trace it's history back to the Blues, and 'BB' was one of it's finest exponents. RIP the King.
  3. I know some who should be "Fined for DJing"
  4. 'Elf & Safety dictates that's all venue's need to be as light as possible to stop punters tripping over handbags when they're walking back across the dance floor with a tray full of drinks.
  5. A top DJ AND a top bloke. RIP Keith.
  6. But is it the Real SS or has he just booted himself?....
  7. Given all those people on Facefook who went to Wigan, I'd say 4 million is a conservative estimate.
  8. They were always "Drug fuelled All nighters".
  9. Now't wrong with James Coit or the Night watch ( CU as Long Long way - The Elingtons IIRC), Certainly no worse than much of the shite that gets murdered on a weekly basis at today's pensioners disco's.
  10. That 'bouncy' Ritz Floor was an interesting experience with everyone stomping to this...
  11. Bobby Diamond - Stop and Joey Heatherton - When you call me baby, put me at Station Rd every time I hear them........ which sadly isn't very often.
  12. 'The Hit Man and Her'....... Live, late Night Dad dancing action from 'The Worlds No1 Disco' introduced by Kev Waterman and Duffy. Accept no imitations folks.
  13. 'The Old Grey String Vest'....... Whispering Bob Harris plays the latest up front Northern and Rare groves inc Al Wilson - The Snake, Dobie Grays - Out on the Floor, and a special competition with a First prize of a copy of Bob Sinclars 'Tribute' (2nd prize is two copies)
  14. 'Patch of The Day'....... Real Northern Soul Fans show off their Adidas bags covered in patches for all the Venues they've never been to.
  15. Thanks for posting Pete, some really nice tracks. The Sublime (Jean Carter) to the ridiculous (Brand new Faces) in two tracks.
  16. I note the production is entitled 'The Wizz'......
  17. 'Runs off to Check Calendar'.......
  18. There were less people on the scene in the 70's, but they were 'more' into the music. Unlike today where there are more people on the scene, but they are less into the music.
  19. Interesting that I first remember hearing Nolan Porter back then and thinking 'Wow - what a track' , yet now I think 'Oh no - not again!'. Not the tracks fault of course.
  20. Pete's last podcast reminded me of this..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3EGCPhRLDE
  21. Give me Muriel Day, Tim-Tam and the tampons or even the Snake in preference to this...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cARPXpHYCE
  22. Of course!. You can't do a job without the 'Tools', just like a Tradesman. Your problem comes when you want to sell the record that you've claimed tax relief on.
  23. Coming soon..... Patch Sewing Lessons. Featuring How to attach those Soul Patches for all those venues you never went to. (includes both adidas bag and string vest stitching)
  24. The sad thing is some of the music on these Adverts/Programmes is better than whats played at many venues....
  25. In the past we used to be scared of a visit from the Drug Squad - now it's the Benefits squad...
