Philt 1,545 Posted May 29, 2016 Actually managed to get out a couple of times with some early flyers for this one and people saying they're really looking forward to it which is great. We've had some absolutely beltin nights down there over the last five years but I have to agree with Si and Joan in that last time Andy guested was the best in terms of atmosphere. The place was absolutely buzzing all night and if this one is nearly as good I'll settle for that; dead chuffed to have him back with us in July. Anniversary n all that but no CDs or owt fancy on the door I'm afraid - other than Louise and maybe a blackjack / fruit salad or two. Roll on 2 Link to comment
Jumpinjoan 1,823 Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) Blimey, four weeks to go (as someone pointed out to us two oblivious idiots Friday night) We're all really looking forward to it. Andy's had his hotel booked ages, Fortnum's promising a new 'alternative' vocal for this one, Dave's bracing himself for a room full of folk on a liquorice sugar rush and I will be mostly saying to Phil "can I get a skinny latte". Can't wait Edited June 6, 2016 by jumpinjoan Link to comment
Eddiefoster 2,779 Posted June 6, 2016 I just love it when Mr Fortnum sings along - and the liquorice sugar sounds great, can you get me 10g pls ? 1 Link to comment

Jumpinjoan 1,823 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) We all know Runcorn's not scared of a lane closure and a traffic cone or two. If anyone out there with local knowledge could kindly post up the latest for next week that would be really helpful x Really looking forward to it. Anyone know if Fortnum's back in one piece? Next year's, you don't want to know. You have to pay £ 1.70 to get over the toll bridges. Bet people get lost and end up on the toll roads. But on the bright side there will be a surplus of road cones Steve Link to comment

Jumpinjoan 1,823 Posted June 27, 2016 Got the week from hell coming up at work but Grumpy to look forward to at the end of it Our man on the inside has sent the following update on the roadworks (big thanks), hope it helps x The road situation is pretty much the same as the last time, with a section of the central expressway still closed, meanining people travelling in from the M56 junction 11 would need to do a detour around Halton Lea shopping centre, after passing McDonalds & Burger king they should follow the road until they come to the island and take the second exit then after going down a slip road onto the open section of the central expressway they need to take the first exit then turn left and then first right which will bring them onto Halton Rd, which is of course where they will find the venue on the right hand side. Winsford Soul 15,963 Posted June 27, 2016 Its much easier coming from the M62 . Junc 7 take the 2nd exit for Widnes then follow signs for Runcorn. Once over the bridge stay in the near side lane turn first left over canal bridge then turn right follow road through two sets of lights then as you cross back over canal bridge turn left into Halton road , the club is about 500 yards down on your left hand side.
