munchkinette Posted August 26, 2009 Share Posted August 26, 2009 The next instalment of United Sound of Soul takes place on Saturday 19th September 2009, as some of you may already know we are trying a new venue out in Blackheath nr Dudley the venue has 2 rooms although on this occasion we are only going to be using the one. The Deja Vu Club, 1 Horner Way, Blackheath, B65 0JE is a lovely little club which has just been refurbished and with a really helpful manager, we will be running from 8 - 4 with dj's Andy Dyson, Ted Massey, Johnny Fingers, Dave Welding, Jumpin Joan, Phil Threlfall, Bob Cornock and Mrs Soul. Admission is only £5.00 on the door and the club has a massive car park and is right next to Sainsburys should we need any extra parking spaces:lol:. The bar prices are like any normal pub and they also do specials on vodka etc for those of you who like a drink, tea and coffee will also be available. For those of you needing a hotel I will post up some in the next few days and Kev or Martyn will put directions up soon. Hope to see some of you there. Sharon Link to comment

From the very first night I went to a USOS night, I thoroughly believed in what the promoters were setting out to achieve. Every night that have put on so far has seen a constant growth in attendance. That's down purely to identifying a need in what the public want. Top quality soul music in decent venues with a great atmosphere and more importantly, punters who really care about the music and each other. Keep up the good work!!! Link to comment

Can't wait to see this new venue guys...it sounds super duper. Came up with a few new ideas for the dance floor ...don't use talc ...use sand.....and now I think it is the right time.. Ok, Heres a picture of the new venue, Its a great little club, two rooms and a small balcony which has comfy sofa on it and a small bar, the main room is all dance floor and has a small stage,the bar is at the entrance to the room, loos are small and clean, and the management are so helpful..... Loads of secure Parking and more if nessasary...... What more can be said, Fantastic line up with a wide range of music to be played, this is now become the norm for United Sound Of Soul hopefully see you all there on the 19th September REMEMBER BRING YOUR DANCIN SHOES. I'm looking forward to getting behind the decks at this instalment of United Sound Of Soul.. the entire DJ line-up points to it looking like we're gonna be in for a spectacular night of Quality Soul music !! And, Kev.. I think I'm happy with the CD of bits from my collection I promised you. I couldn't decide what the content should consist of, but have finally plumped for a compilation of - essentially 60t's sounding - 'funk' edged offerings (be it via a base line, drum beat, rhythm or lead guitar rift). Something slightly different, but all good stuff, Hopefully quite few not known to the masses although there are defo some known bits amongst my selections. I havn't produced a label for it, as yet, but will see if I get time this evening. I'll bring your copy with me to Lifeline tomorrow.
