wasn't shirelles a wheel tune?[/quote

Could well of been? Wouldn't argue there.

Got loads of spins at WC though.

Has Frank Dell, Broke Your Game Wide Open been mentioned!

Great Record that, does it get spins now?

On Valise records. Top tune

Steve

Milton wright - the gallop,

Ede Robin - there must be a love

Evelyn Thomas - Weakspot

Bit earlier I'd have thought Steve?

Can't remember Ade. Someone else said that too. I started going in 75 so it could have been anytime after that.

Steve

one I've been looking for a while patti Williams - best I can, on Forward,  possibly not a monster, but a great tune nevertheless

Was Anita Hulmes & The Essex, What Did I Do a WC spin or earlier?

It was freshly covered at Stafford, or even slightly later, by Guy I think, Not to say it hadn't had a bash before, lots did.

What about one of the biggest instrumentals ever. Afternoon of the rhino. Mike post coalition. now that doesn't get played anymore.

Steve

Babe Ruth was so wrong, it was right, a snarling dance record.

the kid - andre is a big respin for me at the moment,,,,,when was this big at the casino?

Mark. I think it was played before the casino mate

May have been a Mr M,s spin

Steve

talkin of Instros, remember in the late 70s when the "Happy cats on Omack was massive!!

the kid - andre is a big respin for me at the moment,,,,,when was this big at the casino?

i had a buzz on instros at the time , and recall this also gotta lot of plays in the main room 78ish

Larry Barnes Rags Is Rags

Ronnie Davies What Does It Matter To Me Now

Robert L Saunders Come On And Go With Me(?) (Fluffy Falana My Litle Cottage)

Fluffy Falana is a regular & popular spin at Stubshaw......

the kid - andre is a big respin for me at the moment,,,,,when was this big at the casino?

Sure an old boy from Mansfield told me it was pre-Wigan.

It predates the Casino Mark, it was reissued in 68 or 69 because it was so popular and never deleted, it was a revival in early 1978 and that's when the Congress pressings were done.

Astral Trip - Mystic Moods.

Never heard it played after the Casino, does it ever get played anywhere?

Joey Dee and the starlighters. How can I forget you. Caniel records

Steve

One of the tunes that got me into northern (the instrumental). God, how my tastes have changed!! although I definitely still have a soft spot for it.

Me Mark, cos I still play it out occasionally

cheers...going big again

got a box 50 northern records 1972 for helping mate with his disco and the previous owner was a regular torch goer, he told me that all the records used to be played at the wheel and torch THE KID was among those records &after torch closed he wasent into northern any more

wife n kids etc

Played at Wigan.... When? !

WOZ MASSIVE @ THE TORCH...................ALWAYS PLAYED LATE ON BEFORE CLOSING

GREAT TRACK !!

Cmon boys, not many monsters. And still mostly deserving of being forgotten, IMVNHO!

How about Chris Bartley Out Of My Mind, a monster to 200/300 people for a couple of years, rarely heard? Revealled as really Van McCoy on here previously?

First night I ever went to Wigan, Joey Dee and Little Joe Cook where the biggest records in the country, unforgettable

Henry Boatwright - I Can Take Or Leave Your Lovin

I quite like that, except can never stop thinking of Hermans Hermits version when I hear it

Forgotten....maybe not a monster...maybe more of a Mecca/Ritz sound....

Fabulous Jades - come on and live

It was me that first tested it out in March 74. A sensational floor clearer prompting a quick sale lol !
