Records That Will Always Remind You Of A Venue

Recommended Posts

Wakefield unity allnighter August 1977, Hearing Marie knight That's no way to treat a girl for the first time and thinking to myself what an outstanding record. Still think that when I hear it at a venue even after all these years. One of the best records to be played on the scene at one of the best allnighter I have ever attended.

I was on holiday with my wife in Kefalonia about 8 years ago.

One afternoon we were walking along past the bars a shops in the hot sun, when I heard a record playing out of one of the clubs.

It was "Just An Illusion" - The Earls Inc - Zudan.

Not the most obvious record to hear at that time and place! Always think of that day when I hear the Earls Inc.

We went in and enjoyed a full soul alldayer with people from UK who were on a Soul In The Sun type holiday! Totally unexpected!

Can't see where you've missed anyone out to mind. What about Searling, he would sometimes turn out? And being a stickler for accuracy, change that Malloy to Molloy lol x

Leicester Oddfellows - Lucky Charms, Tied to your Heart

100 Club - Chuck Jackson, Millionaire

100 Club - Bill Evans, On Broadway

Just bought my 3rd copy of Bill Evans off Mick Smith recently, no idea what happened to the 1st, the 2nd copy was borrowed to Andy from Wotton on the Edge + 20 years ago - Lost touch since. I mentioned to Mick I'll not be buying another, and will look after this one!

Warrington Parr Hall - Chuck Jackson, Hand it Over

Warrington Parr Hall - Melba Moore, Magic Touch

I know this was an Adey spin, however Pat Brady used to play this at Warrington. Brickey (RIP) mentioned to Pat that Magic Touch was a rumoured  to be the next 100 club anniversary single. Pat told Brickey not to be so stupid. For me and this stupid story, Magic Touch, belongs to Warrington.

nice memories of Parr Hall, top post
