I have just read a post about Mike wanting to pack it all in so i want to put this up for fellow SS`ers to give thier support and thanks for such a great site i dont think we could be without now,

ive been a member for 6 months and would like to say that being a scooter boy who loves his Northern Soul/Soul a big thanks for a new and brilliant way of learning so much more about my music with like minded people, to be able to buy/sell records, find out about artists and labels wether original or boots and make sure im buying the right thing, opinions right or wrong or different, music clips, events and feedback and even a freebasing room to talk crap, i have learnt so much and got to know a few folk i may never of met and gone to events i may never of known of,

so can i say a MASSIVE for SOUL SOURCE AND THANK YOU

Agree it is a fantastic site...imformative and helpful....a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes by all involved and it is appreciated...hope Mike reconsiders and stays

2 years ago, I had been off the scene for over 20 years (usual cr*p, kids marraige(sx3) ) then one day I stumbled accross this site which has been my second home ever since.

I have met many great friends through the site both old and new and for that I thank SS and even more Mike, for making this all possible. Oh and you orrible lot as well

I started a thread some time ago on here under the title "Thank you Mike" along the lines of everyone took this site for granted and it was an everyday essential part of some peoples lives , did'nt cost a dime to be a member of and has brought so much pleasure to so many people.

So much work has been put in to bring it to where it is at the moment with all the changes in the past 12 months with a complete overhaul of the look of the site and the new Ref-O-Soul sounds section it would be a complete shame to give up now as Soul Source is now better in many ways than it ever has been.

There will be a time in the future when Soul Source will finally close its doors but now is certainally not the right time as events on here today whether it's to do with this subject or any other has proved. The viewing figures on here today must have broke the daily record.

Soul Source is a Priceless Treasure.

Been on here about a year,enjoyed the forums, particuliar( look in your box ) when soundfiles were allowed,but, the backstabbing & all the politics on the scene seem to have got completely out of hand,I know it's always been there but surely we should have all grown up by now.At the end of the day it's our music,I don't want to hear about rival promoters & legal threats,go where you want to go,been into this for 35 years the good & bad times.Don't let soul source end with bad memories,the music & the site is to good for that to happen.Best wishes to All.

Take some time out Mike, have a break, it may be good for you.....come back refreshed and full of positive energy.

This site is valued by many people, including myself and it would be a shame for it to shut shop

...And I'd like to second Kirsty's 'second'. I've only been on SS a relatively short time but the amount of postings I've already made shows how much I enjoy its presence in my life.

Mike has done - and I sincerely hope, after a short period of reflection, will continue to do - a wonderful job in keeping everything moving on the site. Even if this doesn't turn out to be his 'Last Farewell' I'd like to say 'well done, that man', and thanks for everything...

Agree with Pul here Mike, keeps us all in touch as we cant all be globetrotting around the UK to soul nites to keep up with everything. And it keeps me occuppied when the girls of the house are watching shite on tv! Made lots of friends thru this site - many of which i havent yet met but hope to meet them all in the future . Been helped out loads of times thru this site - in search of records, mp3s, valuations etc etc. Keep going Mike - you and the rest of the team are doing a great job, f**k the knockers whoever you are.

I visit a few soul/vinyl related sites on the web and must say this is my favourite, i have a lot less free time on my hands than i did a few years back, but i've met a few people via the site that have become firm friends. Websites are no different to the real world, people fall out, have rows etc, you always have a few loathsome weasels even in the workplace, but the majority on here have a life, job etc and use the site as a good resource for soul related articles,events,sales etc. Mike it would be a shame to throw all that hard work away.

The only thing I can say being a member since March 2004 and in all that time not once have heard any one say bad things about this site. So Mike lets look back at the facts!! remember all the soul do's that's been mentioned, sale that's been done, the gossip we have all talked about good and bad, pic's and flyers that's been shown, all the problems that's been ironed out, support that we have given each other, even to those we have never met because when the shit hits the fan's on soul source, we as a group throw it back without striking a blow better than any court room don't you think? You and the soul source site is bigger than any venue that I have ever been too from way back in the early 60's yes I'm an boring old "fart" but never have I seen a response like you have created with this site

I don't know you either,Mike, but I think you should be extremely proud and congragulated for what you've achieved with Soul Source. I would say that the site is indispensable and for me it's the 2006 equivalent of Dave Godin's old column but far more informative and influential.

I've no idea of the workings of the internal computing engine but if your withdrawal meant that we would lose this site, then it would be akin to the Casino,Mecca,Stafford,100 Club etc all shutting their doors on the same day.

I've corresponded with some really nice genuine people and some modern fans on here and would really like to continue doing so.

Im sure your efforts on our behalf are very time consuming and maybe you could be doing something else such as a spot of DIY, taking the wife shopping or the kids to see the Arctic Monkeys!!

I hope you reconsider.

Absolutely! Hear Hear! I'd like to express my whole, and heartfelt, support of Grant's statement.

And to Mike and Soul Source. Keep on keeping on. This site is brilliant, all of human life is here. People just take it a bit too seriously sometimes, it's like having a discussion between 100 people in the pub after a few drinks and where everyone's voice can be clearly heard by everyone else. It'd end in a bloodbath at times but it would also be entertaining, informative and jolly funny at others.

I would say more but thanks to Grant my mind is somewhat occupied with thoughts of f***ing knockers.

hope you don't pack it in the problem is most people don't know what they've got till its gone and i understand that sometimes with the bitchiness that you must seem to get stuck in the middle of must drive you to dispare. but its like any group of people bound by a common interest opinions will varey and arguements will occur you just have to stand back a bit and remember that this is the bit of our lives we are suppose to be enjoying its not work its our recreation time and not a personal crusade.imo this site is brilliant in all aspects and the soul scene would be loosing a now large positive chunk of its make up if it were to close. keep your chin up ace .paul

As you know Mike I made the very first northern soul website on the net back in the early 90's - you however have built the biggest and without a doubt the best - dont let it die. need any help just ask.

Come on Mike, you've got to laugh at some of the stuff on here. As well as being genuinly funny bordering on comedy genius at times, as others have said where else can you learn so much, buy and sell tunes, find out about events, chat and realise how global the soul music scene is. This site pulls it all together and it feels like soul's headquarters. Close it down and people won't know where to go or what to do, mind you I'd actually get some work done. Keep up the good work fella (and the other Mods)

This site has and does play a pivotal part in many soul peoples lives

I know that sometimes the whole of the soul world is on your shoulders and that can seem a hard cross to bear but in the end you created a HUGE soul family

And Im sure I get backing of every single member when I say
