Cheers Jim, You are not so bad yourself!

Chris

The Gene Townsel was on the LP first , the single came a few years later.

James Brown got a release on a single , I think in Venezuela, Β it was played at the H & G recentlyΒ

awesome stuff ! the cate bros, had that lp for about 20 years and never played that track, great stuff please post more

Hiya, Chris always had a good ear for tunes and can play them in the right order. Though curry and soul ain't my bag. Soul, beer and more soul is. Β  My only gripe with Chris is that on one of his earlier trips to the states he mentioned a new series called ' family guy' and I've been addicted Β ever since and if I remember correctly ' spicey food was not on his menu. Β Twisted wheel oldie was more apt ' can't sit down'. Β Cheers

Hiya, And yes I do love curry but has to be home made these days as Indian/ Bangladesh Β restaurants have gone far too mild. Β I actually grew some micro scotch bonnets to put in mine, guaranteed to make anyone dance without music, my arse Β twitched as I wrote that last bit, Β scaredy arse!!!!!, Β cheers

Hiya, not too sure about cate bros, not really real soul but then again ' battered ships' odyssey, doobie bros long train and then mike McDonald ' god knows' another thread on here. Β Soul used to be so different when I was a sprog. Β Maybe this should be a separate issue but some of my favourite tunes ( not all by a long way) Β are by artists who jumped on the sounds of the time- Β Charlie rich- don't tear me down Β hi recordings. Billy shields- I was a boy, johnny maestro - stepping out of the picture, billy storm on hbr etc etc etc. Β somewhere someone said ooh that sounds a bit like X record and someone else said ' do you know Β that X record sounds a bit like this record and then somebody else Β said I'm gonna play this record by ' graham Bonney - super girl,' because it sounded a bit like the X X record and then............ Β As someone said ' if the shit fits, wear it. Β Oh by the way Β ( no I didn't bring my guitar) Β I've been listening to Otis and Levi Β all night. Β Keep the fat, cheers

Hiya, Β keep forgetting ' smiley face' Β etc etc Β  But as I've said before, never read a book/ article with ' hey it's only a joke/ this is serious, at the end. Β Cheers

Just listening, Chris.

Β

Great stuff and perfectly book-ended with the wonderful Randy Brown and Art Gentry tracks.
