Tony Middleton once lived in Paris

Quote

After recording for several years without chart success, he moved to Paris in 1962. Where he was featured, that same year, on Louis De Funès movie "Nous irons à Deauville" performing the hit "Oh Yeah, ah ah!" and acquiring a large following.

Jean Terrell had a puppy called Floy-Joy. It was around the time she was with Lynda Laurence and Mary (Mary's puppy was a gift from Flip Wilson).

seeing as it is Motown's 60 yr celebration weekend...

In 1970 Diana bought the Beverly Hills mansion owned by Donald Factor, son of Max Factor the make-up king. Price $300,000.

Whereas, this was her childhood home on Belmont St, Detroit.

Fluffy was brother of dancer/actress Lola Falana. (,mentioned In previous threads)

I'd never realized until today that Florence Greenberg had been naming her labels after 'Princess' stuff.

e.g Wand, Scepter and Tiara.

Marvin Gaye was in Washington dc doo wop group the rainbows  who recorded the song Mary Lee, which sounds a little like Jackie Wilson, before he joined the marquees with Harvey faqua

Stan Vincent actually wrote Think Smart by the Fiestas (Old Town) but put the credit in his wife’s name  .... George Kerr did the same thing on Edwin Starr’s ..  I Have Faith In You

Andy

After a really rough touring schedule for "Where Did Our Love Go", the Supremes had to cancel their show at Detroit's Twenty Grand. Their replacements- Kim Weston and the Andantes .

Barnaby bye were Bobby alessi,  Billy alessi, peppy castro Mike ricciardella the group were formed in73 by peppy formerly of the blue magoos. But if you listen to can't live this way  and the alessi, s hit Lori I'd say they where definitely lead on both. The four members are the only line up of the group. That are listed.

Here is a video of Fifth Dimension and a quick glimpse at the begining of producer/writer Marc Gordon appearing on the T.V. series ''To Catch a thief'' with Robert Wagner.

Just to clairfy,Don Covay was the only future Soul star who actually recorded with the Rainbows ( he joined after 'Mary Lee ' and sang on the follow-ups  'Shirley' and They Say' ) Marvin Gaye and Billy Stewart were friends and auxiliary members of the group-occasionally singing live with them when a member could'nt make a show or was ill.

Marvin did record with the Marquees, though, on Okeh, backed by  Bo Diddley & his band on the fine, uptempo 'Hey Little Schoolgirl' in 57' and as the uncredited vocal group  on Billy Stewart's lovely Doo-Wop ballad  'Baby,You're My Only Love' also on Okeh that same year.

Martha & The Vandellas -

Vandella...part of the name Della Reese and part of the name Van Dyke St (a street in their neighbourhood)

In the  motown museum, there's a couch which Marvin Gaye RIP, used to sleep on instead of going home when he was busy recording...

Dedication or what!
