Probably , John Andersons fault for giving records like that to RS .. did King Moses get played at Wigan?

John Vincent reckons he played it in the 70's. Which to be fair, thinking about some of the records he DID play, is distinct possibility. (Tell me its an eighties recording and I'll give him a call  )

Sure I've got an RS tape, pre Wigan closing, with M &M's on though.

I've seen his last night playlist somewhere. Wonder if its on that ?

Despite his age, Sean Hampsey has a better memory than most, he should know.

Wait 'til I see him.

He finished at Wigan around 1976 and KM would not have gone down well at St Ives, where Ann Marie, "A Gift Of Love" was a big sound for John.

Seriously though, he my have owned it later, as it as his type of record, and when he made a comeback early eighties, he hd some big big records.

Thanks Malc. I agree with you - awesome set from the man. I was really enjoying the scene at this moment in time - some great new sixties stuff mixed up with some fairly newly released seventies. Searling at his best.

The sheer mixture of the records in Richard's set was highly creditable , and , as far as I can recall , no one slagged it off following him finishing it ......

As I have stated before , it is interesting that the choice of some of the titles in / for his last spot reflected his feelings at the time ......

Cheers Simon.... but didn't think he used the actual title.... if he did that'd be unusaul for the day as most changed both artist and title to avoid "finding it"....

Thanks for info....

I'm sure it was BJT, but you right about the title. RS & Poke often seemed  to use the correct title but with one of the words changed to something that was evidently not in the tit

Just been on Dave Flynns site. It was BJT Simon, but used "guy" in the c/u title as opposed to "man"

Bit of "gameplay" then Simon.... never really looked at "what they called it" and "what it actually was" when uncovered.... thanks for info.... might get round at some point to having a look back at the tracks they covered against what they were to.... then again these days I might get around to winning an old bet of "landing a snowball on the sun" with the things "I'm going to do" ....

Thanks for confirming, tought it was. But some of RS c/u were a bit long winded e.g. Nuron was Lamarr Thomas & the Chains That Bind - All Of My Life Waiting for You, outside the chinese take away on the Picadilly road, in the pi**ing rain, in that by the time it been introduced with a few other bits of banter, they were half over!

Cheers Steve :D .... but I've scoured that site pal over the last couple of years but what it doesn't give you is both the "covered and uncovered song title" and the "artist/band" covered/uncovered.... some of those I just recollect the "covered song title" or the "covered artist"....

Have to disagree, he was playing way too much modern by then and if you listen to some of the stuff on the early 81 tapes, they really are awful, 12" versions a lot of them as well. But no wonder the place was only a quarter full most weeks having to suffer music like that.

Was thinking of starting a cover up quiz type thing but Manno's thrown a spanner in't works with the link he posted up.

Sure somebody will post some stuff up in a bit.

Would do it myself but my old crusty pc's playing up & my cool edit's gone on't blink.

Never mind, new comp arriving in't next few days with lots of stuff on that I don't understand.

F*ck the bollotics.... it's deleted....
