You're gonna love this...tape kindly supplied by Andy Rix...Fantastic

memories here from a legendary Northern Soul venue. The DJ is Pep and

the sounds include Danny Monday, Delreys Inc, World Column, The Crow,

King Errison, Mel Britt and loads more Cleethorpes classics...you can

even hear the sound of dancing feet on the pier floor. There are two

parts to this, the second part sits above the first on the website so

make sure you play part 1 first.

Del I was thinking exactly the same - I never went but my goodness, I wish I had! I also hadn't realised that many of my favourite records of that time weren't Wigan at all but were Cleethorpes sounds. Great stuff.

Pete...from what i have been told..the music policy was very open and flexible...so long as it was good quality soul music and got the punters dancing..listening to the sound of the dancers stomping and clapping..sounds that they got the balance absolutely right..... absolutely superb...now is there a Blackpool Mecca tape out there?????? ...Delxx

Thanks Pete

and Andy.

Love this, yes you can hear the feet, reminds me of the queue to get in.

You could just feel that throb of the dance floor. before you even entered the place.

One of the happiest times of my life, travelling in from Doncaster by Train.

Me, Saus, John Philips all worked for the Railway at the time. Cheap Fares too. Happy Days.

The Pier, was Brilliant. The Winter Gardens too. I well remember walking through the night to the Winter Gardens.

The Whole Experience Magic. Thanks Again.

Talk about taking you back in time..Can it really be 33 years ago when I was stood on a freezing February night (EE by gum thats when Februarys were really freezing!) just around my 17th birthday, shaking in a cotton dress queueing to get in! Absolutely brilliant!!

Thanks very much for the memories.

I uploaded on SS 20 Nov 2007

where the **** did you think AR got it to pass on to you?

Oh grow up, if you don't want me to post any live tapes without asking you first, just say so. I got it in the post off Andy yesterday, I never heard it before so I thought I'd share it with everyone, I thought it was his and didn't know it was already circulating.

As always, top job Pete.

I never got to Cleethorpes, but I sure wish I had, some serious soul on that tape.

Alright, I know its mad but I am really starting to like that 'circus intro' track, don't take the piss too much, but who's it by?

eve of eden on buddah = paradise of fools

It's actually called "Parade of a bunch of fools" Mark. For years I thought it was called "Parade of fools" because thats how it was listed on the old Emidisc list where you could get anything cut via the back bar at Wigan.
