I was a 14 year old, just begining to learn about Northern Soul. We had some aunties and uncles visiting, and the TV was on. On come the Rolly Pollys, and proceed to launch into a 'wacky' version of the Sherries - Put your lovin' arms around me. My mother's ears prick up, and she says to me: "Isn't this one of your Northern Soul records?
