  1. One of my favourites from many. "Private property"

  3. R & B Indies has another Jokers track (no number) - "Soul stomp/Unknown"

  5. Justin, I definitely sent out yours but would be happy to send it again if I'm one of the guilty parties. Mike
  6. Pat, 100 % in. Whatever the format. Mike.

250 Jimmy Chandler - "I can't turn you loose/Jim jam" The numbers go up in 25's for some reason so perhaps there are only the 6 issues.
  8. Anita Baker - The songstress Soul Children - Genesis
  9. There are two Chord(s) labels in R & B Indies although they are both late 50's, early 60's according to the detail. For what it's worth the details are as follows: Chord 1301 George Young - "You know I wanna love you/Wow,wow,wow" Chord 1302 The Sophomores - "Charades/What can I do" Chord 1305 The Omegas - "Crazy bones/Razz matazz" Chord 101 The Del Rays - "One kiss, one smile and a dream/One love is true" Chords 101 Vern Young & The Ambassadors - "Cindy Lou/One last look at my darling" Chords 102 Joy Taylor - "My cutie pie/I still remember" Chords 103 Joy Taylor - "Shattered love/A smile" May not have any relevance, but you never know.

Pearly Gates - real name Viola Billups, looks to be the one on the left as you look at it if my eyes don't deceive me. If so then would she be one of the Pearce sisters? This is a Levine thing isn't it?
  11. Dont know because I dont remember hearing it at the Mecca, so it was just a guess.
  12. I've said Tension but I think you're right, Rod.
  13. Tension on Poison Ring.
  14. It's actually "What about you" on Ava. No idea on price.

Or Lana? Apparantly its a contraction of Goldband and Louisiana - courtesy of Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven.
  16. You will have the single issued on Virgin. It was originally scheduled to be issued on A & M but most copies were destroyed when the lads had their contracted with A & M cancelled due to certain "misdemeanours" in the A & M offices and a ruck with somebody connected to the label. Only a handful are said to exist and therefore "holy grail" is an apt description.
  17. Can't play the clip but Lock 753 is Denise Chandler - "Yes I'm ready/You hurt me now"
  18. No official release on vinyl. Originally scheduled for Gordy 7125 in March 1973 - details from DFTMC.

Dave Rimmer has one on his site - www.soulfulkindamusic.net
  21. Do you mean Borders? Waterstones is not in administration - it's part of the HMV group and although struggling as a lot of retailers are, is still very much alive.

Just the 4 per R & B Indies: 001 Lewis Clark & the Explorers - "If I ever, ever leave you/Unknown" 002 Lewis Clark & the Explorers - "I need your lovin' so bad/Lets do it now" 003 MK 111 - "Blues for George C/Mocha Nova" 004 Lewis Clark & the Explorers - "Here's my heart/If you ever, ever leave me"
  23. It certainly is a great 45 - my CD (which hopefully will be out early next week) has "Come on back (to me)" on it, so that's both sides covered. Mike
