Mark Bicknell
Two Wigan Casino bricks from the home of Northern Soul for sale, both bricks are in nice condition no cement residue, some minor chips and marks but they are around a 100 years old, authentic and original, these bricks are taken from the main entrance area of the Casino, ideal Christmas present for the serious collector, if bricks could tell a story these two must have a million between them, would sit well with all the badges, clocks, mugs and other retro nostaligia collectables, would rather sell as a pair but would consider spliting so two people can reap the joy of owing a bit of history, serious offers for the pair or single bricks welcome. Mark Bicknell
I RECKON THE LEFT ONES A BOOTLEG BRICK If you knew your bricks Phil like you do the records then your comment is totally untrue and without foundation infacct although these two bricks are taken from the entrance area of the Casino they are infact taken from the very foundation of the building so they are both original and authentic so there. Guest Bearsy
They look the wrong shade of red to be originals and they used lime mortar in the days gone by and it looks like there is no lime traces plus they look metric and not imperial but if you could tell me what is written in the frog it could clear up any unceartainty in relation to their aunthenticity Link to comment Social source share

Jez Jones
If no offers are forthcoming Mark--have you considered approaching Manship and put them up for auction. He did a superb job with Frank Wilson. .......while I'm on --I'm sure somewhere I've got a 'Watneys Red Barrel' beer mat from the Sneyd Arms Tunstall circa 1972..... SteveM
I remember back in the day when you could get bricks like that of Wickes front page for £1.25. Of course I bought a copy of every brick that was for sale at that price at the time. Also, I'm sure the Mecca laid bricks before the Casino, although my favourite bricks were on the pier at Cleethorpes................................................................................
