was waiting for some one to start something like this but guess aint coming..

so as had a 'active' over rated thread

how about a under rated one

45s that maybe for reasons say such as availability have never really had the acclaim that you think deserved.....

The only tune I can live with from these is 'Shades Of Jade' for the intro, as for the others each to their own, but "it's Only A Paper Moon' cost me a ton in the mid-eighties and I still don't know why I bought the thing - c'est la vie!

Like you Greg I'm guilty of buying "Papermoon" as well, it ws still covered up I think when I got it.

The Jesse S, to my ears, is just about perfect for the more progressive venues and certainly a 45 favoured in Europe - great tune..

I've ben playing the Jesse Slaughter out for a while now when I get the chance.

not one of his best bob...prefer broths gonna work it out now that is awesome imo

"get ready..." is one of his best cuts. However, brother's gonna work it out is his #1 best cut. Everyone in Chicago knows that song and they don't play it on the radio. I love this one from the foxy brown soundtrack but it never got a 45 release:

You got nothing better to do and yes I agree, they wouldn't like the Bunnymen but then again I dont like Silent Treatment. C'mon dig deeper :D

Hi Bob,

Now I really could be totally wrong with this as I don't think I have it anymore. I was doing radio at the time of release and I'm sure I was sent a 45 promo of this. Whether it got a full release I dont know but if I remeber the blurb that came with they said they were releasing a couple of 45's to go along with the film because of it's "Blaxploitation " conortations and its influence on the black music scene at a time when it had seemingly fallen by the wayside... if that makes sense.

Best

Steve

another shout for zz hill -what more....not that easy to find compared to his others but still cheap...

and ofcourse the esquires-how could it be...been banging on about this for about 4 years after finding one for a fiver on seans shelves...still dont hear it out much even if butch has apparently played it recently...really dont understand why...great dancer from a good band..better than there other more well known tracks

Thanks Steve. The title theme "theme from foxy brown" was released on 45 and promoed and even got some play. I would love to get this one on 45 if it exists. I don't think it does though. Maybe there is a foreign release, even that would be cool to get.

Really love this un, a goodie from 72. Most of the guys in the group had a good pedigree, so how could it be anything but great.

Pity they didn't play this at the Casino; much better than all that stomper rubbish they did play (& don't even get me started on all the pop shite).

always loved this

The best record posted....love this and their other one Got To Have You....i really think there should be a thread....records that could have been played out in the golden period or got lost in the fast turnover.

been clearing floors with this for years......at least 15

Neil Clowes was pushing this in 91...........never took off then

three more that I think are underated but I dont go out much these days so might not be anymore :)

the jackson brothers, I've got to hear it from you.providence
