Not to my current taste but still a good tune!

forgotten how good this one is  must dig it out

the moments / hurts on me baby

another cheap record but so soulful and a good dancer imo

Agree, gonna get me one of them!

Well Gilly described this as the Tick Tock song on Dean Andersons radio show recently ish & as per usual the mans taste is imaculate, so thanks to Gilly for alerting me to this & here ya go.....

Now that is a hell of a tune, thanks for posting  ....would be a welcome play at any Nighter IMHO regardless of price or availability...

Best Russ

Today's post was a Middleton fave awhile back but also had a few plays back in the day at The Casino without really taking off?Proper girlie 60t's dancer imo.

The Pussycats-I Want Your Love Columbia

A real goosebumps song

Peggy Scott - Things have more meaning now - Old Town

gary

yeah it's a strange one for the group, often wondered if it really was the Moments myself??, (well, the well known trio) lot earlyer then it's release?, Stang stuck it on the b side of "All I Have" It's a fantastic track, and as ya say nice and cheap too! gotta be 60s hasn't it?

steve

Superb Beat Ballad

And to contrast .... :) Will be playing both this weekend

In a mellow mood this morning!

One of my favourite records from one of my favourite artists...

Otis Leavil - "let he love me" ( Blue Rock)

Dave

Nice cheapie with that feel good factor today THE TALK OF THE TOWN on NORTH BAY "Little bit of your loving"

One from me today that has never really hit the heights it should of imo but still gets plenty of plays in our house, maybe as it's not an out & out dancer?Just love the way it builds with the awesome vocals.

Masqueraders - How Big Is Big Bell

Always liked this, always thought of it as a Wigan tune Martyn, it has some good memories assiciated with it for me!

Well, another monster 'pop' tune from the Casino today, found a copy in the loft last night, played it LOUD, I was back in that sweaty, sticky floored, big room at the Casino at the age of 16 - 17 ..... bloody brilliant..... the copy i found is scratched to high heaven, so if anyone has a spare original kicking around.. VG+ or better, and cheap.......

Pat Williams Orchestra - Police Story

And NO! I don't want to sell it :D

Cheers

Martyn

Fooking brilliant Martin, these boys didn,t know how to make a bad record, the flip is one of the greatest performances of all time IMHO

its from the 1969 album not on the outside but on the inside , according to wikpedia the group where going through a lot of line up changes , deffo not the three who we all associate with the whispers , or not all of them, if you check it out on wikpedia , it will explain better than i can , thanks john

The guys really nail this track Martyn, they took a quite MOR track by Joey Edwards (Levine) and really took it somewhere else for me, and as Kev says, the flip "Please Take Me Back" penned by the guys themselves, is a stunning piece of propper soul imo.

With you all the way on that Dave, for me Otis's output is superb.... everything the guy did, and if anyone deserves a propper compilation of his tracks.... this man does, he had enough class 45's on Dakar, Bluerock, Brunswick, Limelight, Columbia, Smash and Lucky to fill a CD of classy proportions imho

steve

With the sad passing of Frank Wilson, thought I'd post a track that I've loved many a year.

Written and produced by Frank, the flip to Brenda Holloway's "Youve Made Me So Very Happy"

Brenda Holloway - "I've Got To Find It" from 1966

steve

and another taster, the final track from the manifesto soul club jack kitching appeal cd

laurel atikin ' baby please don't go '

Tower of Power-So very hard to go-Warner brothers Think this is Lenny Williams what a great voice when he gets going Live and flawless IMHO

All excited today as I've just tracked down a long time want & we all know how that feels.Wahooooooo!!!!

A brilliant double-sider that I thought I'd never own..........which makes it even better.

Jerry Jackson-It's Rough Out There/I'm Gonna Paint A Picture Parkway

Bought it really for "Rough" but "Picture" is nearly as good?

I was sure this had been posted, but couldn't see it... so, as I just got one for literally pennies, the brilliant, underplayed, cheap....

Joe L - (I'm not gonna be) Worried on Clissac
