Thought it would be a good idea to post scans, pics, or just name the records that dropped through the letterbox or you have bought somewhere.

I thought it would be good idea to see what we are all buying - it doesn't matter f it is £1 or £cost a fortune, just post it here so we can all see what we managed to get and may a few words on why we bought it?

Moderaters can advise if it is a good thread or not.

I will get the ball rolling with two that came today (Scans below)

1. Young Holt Limited "California Montage" Brunswick USA DEMO - well chuffed, have a stocker, but wanted the demo!

2. Gloria Jones "Tainted Love" USA Champion - label is knackered, vinyl plays great and is in VG++ condition. I bought as I cannot afford a Minty one so got this one for £20 so I can play on original vinyl in my soul do at my house!

Great song, Peter, I made a version by Kenny & The Soul Masters at Ardent about 23 years and it sold quite well in the UK and Japan.

Saturday 3 arrived namely Patty Parks - Lovers Lane,  The Fabulons - Don't Ask Me,  Alan Lad - Do You Like The Way I Do It For You/She Don't Know.  The 1st 2 will no doubt be too Blue-eyed/Pop for some tastes.  Can't find a clip for Alan Lad but She Don't Know was also released on Hot Spot 1000 with a different flip, a ballad, All The Good Lovin' You Need.

I'm not buying much these days. Buying a record cleaning machine destroyed my bank account.

But a week ago these arrived:

I don't think the Canadian Phil+la 45's are demo's. Canada issued a lot of 45's on white labels with no demo details. I can think of Curtom, Argo, Carla, the ones pictured, all white label.  Just grabbed this as an example.

Just received a beautiful copy of Under The Street Lamp/You Got To Have Money - The Exits

Trouble is, after a test play  or feedback purposes, it's been confiscated by the missus, not to be re-opened till 25th December - that's three bloody months...why did I agree to that!...what if I've gone off it by then!!!! (doubt it)

Here's a few I've recently bought.........................

3 Absolute belters Peter, the REAL stuff mate :hatsoff2:

As we've said more than once, on more than one thread, you don't have to spend huge sums of money to be able to buy top drawer soul music.

Peter

The Premiers - Lonely Weatherman - Mohican

P-Funk Allstars - One of those Summers - Hump Records

Just arrived in the post Inez & Charlie Foxx - You fixed my heartache - Dynamo D-127. One of my rare purchases from U.S.A. It was graded as VG+ but it looks M-, just has a drill hole through the label and a couple of scuffs on the B side. I collect mainly sixties sounds and have been after this for a while. I think that this is the first time I have posted on this thread, I have been following it recently and it is interesting to see the variety of members purchases.

Just arrived
Inez Fox - Hurt by love - Dutch 'Funklier'
Frankie Valli - The Night - German 'Rare Earth'

Waiting for
Johnny Jones & The King Casuals - Purple Haze - US 'Brunswick' Demo

Just bought a copy of Newsound - Bet You Never Thought About It

Flip it over Tiberius (Just one time) and post it on the Lowrider thread

Kev

It's taken a long time (arrived today)

But i can't blame the postal service for the 40year delay

(Timi Yuro) Itll Never Be Over For Me

Flip it over Tiberius (Just one time) and post it on the Lowrider thread

Kev

When it arrives, if the condition is OK, I'll post it on my youtube channel and then add the video to the thread on here.

Two due on the doormat hopefully any day now..............

Thelma Jones - Souvenirs Of A Heartbreak Barry

Kissy Darnell - You Jeopardize My Life Go Go GTO

Cheers

Martyn

There have been 4 land this morning -

Ronnie Angel - For Love, Jack Harden & the Silhouettes - She'll be back, Tony Washington- Someone's Always Crying/ He Will Break Your Heart, so I have spare copies of these 3 now.  The 4th is Cilka and the Second Coming - He Left Me Behind which I'd put off buying several times as being "oddball" over the years but finally relented.
