God, how lucky!   I dream (as we all do) of hearing tunes of this quality for the first time. Stunning, there's no other word for it

  •   WOW!! I've heard about this track but I've only just listened to it for the first time. Flip me, that is an absolutely wonderful piece of music.

thankyou...the times ive seen that record and just never bothered with it! the name just put me off...oh well a lesson learnt..and defo my loss!

I'm indifferent to it...I find it pleasant but its no Frank Beverley.Im in two minds about uploading to YouTube now as I got a few copyright claims and YouTube muted the music.I've put it on mixcloud which I think is the way forward.I've loads of other radio stuff on there as well.

It was probably me who duplicated your recording. Don't think I've this one so will download for tomorrow's listening alongside Ian Levines.

I'm sure John Vincent used to play the Just Brothers "Go on and Laugh" in the early 80's at Morecambe Pier allnighters?

It came from John Vincent as far as I am aware. John told me he offered it to Richard late Wigan and Richard said it was too good for the Northern crowd.

I sent out about 50 perfect quality full mp3's of this to anyone who asked me for it about 18 months ago - surely someone's still got it and they could share it again.  Wasn't off a radio show or anything.

This is one of those records that on first hearing knocked me for 6. Such a great record to dance too as well as a fantastic slab of soul music. Again in my top 10.

Makes me wonder if the Just Brothers if discovered now would be held in such high regard by the current northern crowd who seem to think that Willie John's I'm Shakin' and Bob Sinclairs 'Tribute' is where it's at ?

Dave

P.S can we please get back to some real soul of which the Just Brothers is a perfect example.

I think Chalky named them all on the actual thread when I originally posted this tape.

From.John Vincent.....he bought this as a total unknown acetate in 83 from John Anderson. It was unlabelled so he called it The Just Brothers. At some point it was briefly swapped with Searlings copy of Larry Clinton.John sold it back to John Anderson in 84 which is where Butch presumably got it from.An original Morecambe spin for John Vincent.

Fabulous tune....hope Butch plays it at the True soul weekender in August

Hi Andy....played twice would be most welcome :-)

Had this in my hand down at the bowl  , i asked John what he was doing with it & he said Butch would probably take it, often question my sanity as i thoiught it was too dated for what i was doing at the time ( don't ask :D ) funny tho cos somehow i ended up taking away another 10inc accetate that came from mr Vincent by sunny gale which sadly is not in the same league
