Sad news.  Didn't know Fran personally, but sure I've shared a dance floor with her on occasions.  RIP Fran.

Very sad news.

Iconic photos stick in your mind, from days when I was living in hope of attending my first all niter...  Well this lady featured in more than one of those photos.

   RIP

Such very sad news. Fran was a lovely lady, she spoke so well on The Culture Show with Paul Mason, and made such a great contribution to the  forthcoming movie. A true credit to the NS scene. Proud of you Fran. RIP. Condolences to her family and friends.

i'd expect a good many soulies on the scene have pics of her littering their albums over the decades, she was obviously a very popular figure. i can't confess to having met her but know of her via the documentaries she was fortunate to appear in, including most recently, the culture show's offering on bbc2...a true devotee and a standout person, a proper matriarch amongst the masses and a flower of scotland.....i hope that sums her up fittingly...may the lord rest her soul, r.i.p. fran x

I wasnt a personal friend, but had been on speaking terms with Fran for many years, a true soul lady & Ambassador for the scene, such a shock, when she was in the room you knew you were amongst the right people...her family & friends should be very proud of her & know how much respect she had within our community....

RIP Fran & deep condolences to family & friends.
