Howard Guyton for me too, a much more interesting arrangement IMO

They're both great versions but I think the slightly slower tempo of Howard Guyton suits the song better. Teddy Randazzo's arrangement and production is also superior.

I like the faster Lou version,  the way he belts the song out.

With Mr Randazzo at the controls there can only be one winner of this one ...

Can only be  Howard Guyton for me. So many memories.  Remember it costing me £30 for a water damaged label  verve issue.

Apart from the title line, they're not even the same song.. but side by side then Howard is miles better.

Howard Guyton is the better version I reckon. Great intro, great vocals and an instrumental break that pins you to the wall. Even the sound quality on the 45 is top notch. A true Northern belter if ever there was one.

I watched you SLOWLY slip away belted out is a bit of an oxymoron to me - Howard Guyton all the way.
