A new year, a new photography thread! Thanks to everyone who's participated in these threads, whether as a photographic contributor, a commenter, or as someone who just pops in from time to time to admire the latest offerings. The Soul Source photography thread now enters its sixth year (well, technically it started life in April of 2013, but who cares?), which I think is amazing.

As I mentioned in the last post of the 2018 thread, its longevity is entirely down to you and your continued involvement, so thank you one and all for making this a real highlight for so long. Cheers, and here's to another photo-filled year!

three from a great walk over Crimpiau & Criegiau Gleision on a warm and very quiet Saturday in Snowdonia

1st one is the view down Dyffryn Mymbyr towards the Snowdon Horseshoe from Y Pincin. 2nd is where I'm walking with the view across Llyn y Coryn and the 3rd is the heather clad hills with a view to the big guns of the Ogwen Valley with Snowdon in the background. Photo's don't do the colour of the heather justice and it was a real pain getting through it as it covered a lot of the paths/tracks

Great way on to Snowdon along with the South Ridge and a very quiet route

Depends on which route you take and if you've done anything like it before. I wouldn't say it's "easy" in the sense of the word but some routes are less difficult than others. It's bloody good though 🙂This will give you some idea but there is a load more info else where https://www.walkupsnowdon.co.uk/paths-up-snowdon-in-order-of-difficulty/

We had the paths .

Planned the Quarry route but with dogs not the best idea . Our lass and dogs were attacked on route down by cows that had just been separated from calves . Had to chase eith a stone or few to get them to run to gate and escape.  Quite a trip .

Some of terrain from Rhy Ddu was anything but easy . Were going to come back via South Ridge but that was an additional hours walk .

Llanberis is probably the best  . You can download weather maps for assent . Weather changes at different levels . Can always go back on train on Llanberis.  If your knackered cold and drenched like we were . Take plenty of water . None available at the top or base

Hiya Steve ... yes all good this end bud , hope your summer has gone well and enjoying the good weather .

Wow , far better pic than mine .

My first time in Ludlow , but what a beautiful town. Got a mate that lives close to there in Much Wenlock , so stayed with him and his misses for a couple of nights before pushing off to Frodsham and another mates for the rest of the Bank Holiday .

And thankfully a good journey both ways ... which makes a change. Going to go back for the Food Festival ... oh and a few beers .

Yeah all good here thanks mate.  My old man is buried not far from Ludlow at a place called bishops castle.  Ludlow is stunning,  glad to hear that you enjoyed it.  As for Frodsham,  wish I had known one of my old stomping grounds. Used to invade it from Widnes acting like missionaries trying to educate the locals.  Not many soulies about there as you know,  they're mostly biker type's into cock music.  Great Indian restaurant.  Frodsham tandoori.  Chinese,  huet ben. Highly recommend the Tibetan lamb.

Whooper Swan.  Not sure what this bird is doing in the UK at this time of year as they're normally to be found in the Artic regions until Autumn.  Took this about 4 weeks ago at Leighton moss RSPB nature reserve

Just got back from our annual 2 weeks in cornwall ,we went for a walk on lands end from Nanjizal bay on the coast path,we stopped for dinner in a quiet spot overlooking the sea only to be confronted by a magical display by the local seals for 2 hours. They were playing in a sheltered pool and it started with just one sunbathing on the rocks but was later joined by at one point six others just enjoying themselves chasing each other and diving to the bottom I only had my small pocket Ricoh waterproof camera so excuse the clarity, here are some of the photos.

Looks really good Smudger ..

We do a annual trip to Sennen , camping every year and have done that walk a few times . Lovely mate , good pics .

Weather wasn’t as great this year as they had a weather warning of very strong winds and rain and cancelled Boardmasters festival in Newquay . Most of the campers left our site , as did we a bit early and where glad we did . But always a stunning sunset

It’s Trevedra Farm - at the top of Gwenva Beach the beach next to Sennen . Have been going there for 40 years .... love it

Hi Steve, just to let you know, you were right, the gull has gone from the secured area, it's assumed he's flown off into the blue yonder ready to take on the world and the fish and chips!    Bless.  It was a solicitors office. They called him "Lee Gull".  He'd been flapping all week apparently.  They're all gutted 😂. They'd grown very fond of him. Awww. ☺️. Happy ending. We like those.

Not the best picture I've ever taken but as its only the 2nd time that I've ever seen Swifts in September I thought I would post the silhouette .

There must have been at least 80 birds going south and the bad weather dropped them down
