    RIP Burt

  • Saw him at the Bridgewater hall in Mcr a few years ago, blubbed all the way through then got to shake his hand, truly phenomenal. Sadly it's only the music that's timeless.

Not enough superlatives to describe or bestow on the genius that was, Burt Bacharach...he personified that cool elegance of the 60's whilst pop went manic. So many wonderful colloberations with Hal David too, spawning unrivalled hit after hit with Dionne Warwick....and the movie scores sizzled, big arrangements for oscar winning films that brought him oscars too.

He articulated with every musical genre.

Our generation, in particular, he resonates with....we above all others, will miss him the most.....really?

He's a great loss to ALL, and the world will never forget that, his music will stand the test of time, long after we're all gone too...

God rest his beautiful soul🙏

Rest in Peace Burt Bacharach

Doesn't come much bigger on this site / scene...

Phenomenal record!, the epitome of anything he's responsible for, associated with and adopted by our scene for sure😉👍

RIP -The arrangement on this one is stunning and that melody.

Burt Bacharach song demo on an 8" acetate. Titled "And then she walked right through the door", it would be recorded by Dionne Warwick as "And then he walked right through the door" in 1974. However, the song remained unreleased until it featured on the 2013 CD "We need to go back: The unissued Warner Bros Masters."

Blue Seas-Jac Music was Bacharach and Hal David's music publishing company. The disc reputedly came from the estate of Isaac Hayes.

My pleasure. I'll get round to uploading the Burt Bacharach demo to YouTube at some point. After all, music is for sharing, and with his sad passing, there can't be a more appropriate time to do so.

So many fantastic, beautiful songs. RIP Burt.

I mentioned a Burt Bacharach song demo a while back and have finally uploaded it to YouTube. Just to remind you, the song is called "And then she walked right through the door". Being a song demo, it only features Burt's singing and piano playing.

😊

My pleasure. And yes, very beautifully written (and performed). Have to say the more I hear it, the better it becomes.
