Not sure of the exact the way to phrase this question but I think you will get my drift.
Anyone got a soul/NS record on it's origional label that has become a top tune; well known on the scene; rarity; regular play or whatever, that they bought themselves in the sixties/seventies from a record shop at the time of the tunes first release and not from a dealer or digging around in boxes etc later?
Clearly this would apply to the older end of collector/soul fan on here and maybe (or maybe not) only to those living in the States at the time.
If this a stupid question my coat is ready and waiting!!
