Billy Butler - My Heart Is Hurting

Had it since the early 80s when Manship was knocking out Okeh as cheap as chips.

Hardy ever played around here.

Phylis Hyman - Baby I'm Gonna Love You

Never heard it played anywhere. True diva & what a soulful voice.

Feel free to add...

Col.

Listened to your sixpack thingy a couple of months ago, the Furys track "What is soul" I thought it was great, I'd never heard it before. Looked on Soulclub, found out they had the other side, "I lost my baby". I'd never heard this either, what a great double sider.

Cheap as chips too..... :)

Took me 5 years trawling through record boxes to get a "My heart is hurtin'" :(

Another good cheapie. Josephine Taylor - Good lovin' - Mar V Lus

Eldridge Holmes - Without a word - Sansu

There's loads...

Still gives me a thrill to hear good sounds I've not heard before.

Cheers,

Derek.

PHYLLIS Hyman - Baby I'm Gonna Love You - Regularly spun at the underappreciated George Jackson! nights. A very beautiful and special record. When you can buy records like this for less than £20 why does this scene tend to revolve around moronic records costing 10 to 100+ times this amount? Time to re-appraise surely?

Hoagy Lands - Why Didn't You Let Me Know - Spectrum

Sold a spare recently great record

Radiants Hold On is one of my faves. Been around since the scene began and certainly got plays at The Wheel. A soul pack perennial in the early seventies ie 10 pence a copy.

Also, William Hunt is on Streamside not Riverside. But it is a GREAT tune!

link

Is this the same version that was released in the UK on Camp (1967 Polydor subsidiary) as Willie Amos Hunt?

I got it in a soul pack I bought in 1998. 100 US original northern 45's for £100. I don't think I have a single one of those today, but I did eventually get rid off them all with a small profit, so no loss really. It's a bit too fast for today don't you think? If you know what I mean?

One of the records of the weekend for me at Cleethorpes was Four Tops.. "As long as you need me,i aint heard it since my teens,it sounded fantastic..Only a few people danced and quite a lot did not know it...Cheap as chips tune that will always rock my heart...Can anyone tell me who spun it,it could have been Ady,it was on the Sunday night....:ohmy: It brought a tear to my eye while dancing...A lot of people will not dance to slower stuff and i love that, more room for the beat ballad brigade :ohmy:
