    Well IMHO it is great Northern. We know it isn't Soul but thats not the point, it is as Nev rightly pointed out a dance scene that revolved around a beat as much as anything.

Guess as always up to the buyer and how much he wants that record to get one in the collection. Wouldnt mind one but theres a few hundred in the wants queues I'd pay that sort of money for first. :)

Know what you mean Grant , as you say it's entirely up to the buyer , at least it's in great nick! I don't understand some of the prices for records that are in terrible condition.

I must be one of the few people to have had a demo and an issue at the same time. I got the issue off Ebay, saw it, no bids, offered the guy $150 and got it (this was in 2000). The day it arrived, I'd bought one off someone, might have been Kev Roberts, for £400 I think it was. The two arrived on the same day. By the weekend they had both gone. I got £1000 worth of trades for the issue.

I personally think it's worth about £800 on demo.

you've seen a few of these now pete, and i think we cut a reasonable deal a while back with cash and trades. i never believed in all my days id get my hands on one, but thanks to you i did ( and it was dated stamped as well! )

I was also watching this. Thought I might bid if the the price was right. However, what limited my bid was in the detail of the postage instructions. Customs Declaration of THE FULL AMOUNT!!

Using the figures where I got caught on that with a lower value disc, it could add £12 handling charge and about 20% tax = £240. Postage quoted at $44 (£30). Total add to the selling price - £255.

I assume the buyer was aware and that it isn't a nasty shock when the little notice pops through the door rather than the disc.

I'm happy to be proved wrong if someone knows differetly and I got the wrong end of the stick

Don't think so, she recorded for (at least) 2 labels as Vicki Baines - Karen Young was a white UK singer, unless you mean someone else?

The "Hot Shot" one I thought? I know Vicki was also someone else in the 70s.

It's definitely 66 - most the Cameo Parkway labels have the founding date of the label at the bottom, 63 or 64

It has 1964 at the bottom but label founded in the 50's with slight name changes at later dates.

Know what you mean Chalky but some collectors wont have anything but minty clean!! like the day they left the pressing plant! Personally depending on rarity as long as it plays well and looks Ok then that will do if you get a minter! Well bonus in my book!!

Back when I collected the label this was one of the double siders on Loma that I always liked Chalky, but reason for commenting on it, it also got released on the Symbol label. Never had one myself on Symbol, but remember seeing a nice issue copy round Richard Domar's some years ago ( just looked he's still got it listed, £50, what's the Loma one worth ? £30?)

Nice!! Great record that stands alongside Cecil Washington (wanted to say Joe Matthews) from the days when I was in my prime!!!

Come on steve......it,s a nasty pop record awful piece of work...........is it coming out on john A's label?

Can remember being up on the balcony as a teenager ,watching all the girls in the circle skirts dancing to it ... Sounded great when that instro break kicked in ,the floor went mental .

Full on floor filler record back then and I remember peeps getting all excited and saying how much it was worth etc .

Sadly I think it's just a dated record now and isn't even remotely soul :(

But in fairness ,it was a scene ,a dance scene ,and records were chosen to suit the northern soul style .. Uptempo with breaks to spin to and do acrobatics .

I'm sure there are plenty of places and plenty of people who still get a lot of pleasure out of hearing this being spun :)
