Popular Post Kev Cane Posted January 5, 2014 Popular Post Share Posted January 5, 2014 I think if we are honest Russ the days of the all-nighter is fast dwindling with less and less hardcore nighter goers every year.....the oldies only venues will last longer but you are not going to influence the DJ's one bit as they are rooted firmly in a certain decade. The best record recommended so far that would IMO have a chance of gaining exposure to a wider audience is the Notations "That Girl" and some of the Soul Junction releases but I doubt it because o0of the mentality of collectors and Dj's. I always look forward to each new release on Soul Junction, Kent, Numero, Daptone, Timion, Secret Stash labels etc etc.... where so many AMAZING (often prev unreleased) tracks finally get to be enjoyed at a good price. Still enjoying the Al Supersonic and Teenagers LP from last year, particularly the track "Under Construction"... Its on the 'Maybe' Roulette LP which is what I used to play it from 30 odd years ago, Bradford Queens Hall etc. But then I later came across the German Bellaphon 45. With the interest in the unreleased Motown versions, which turned up a few years ago, I feel this certainly has legs, in a storming 'old school' Northern stylee!
