But, I have to say I can't stand this record - takes me back to the local disco when I was 15/16 and the DJ would say and now for some northern soul and play this. Top for me by an absolute mile is the live "Motortown Revue" version of "Come & Get these Memories"

 

Over the years it keeps coming and going from You Tube. But it's there now so catch it while you can.

 

I love every single second of this performance. Martha's cheeky smile. The way her voice goes a bit raspy. The sassy attitude. The whole choreography. The 60's outfits and high heels. The hand on the hip. The teddy bear "over the shoulder". Choker and the gang grooving away in the background.

anything else dont get played here.  I may get slated, but ive never rated martha reeves as a singer, she is mediocre at best.

My favourite by Martha and the Vandellas has to be I gotta let you go.

This has always been a favourite of mine. LP track only I believe. Written by Smokey Robinson, it's quite sad but incredibly optimistic and uplifting at the end. A fantastic example of his song writing skills.
