Mind you Ebay is amusing to us collectors, once saw a Billy Arnell on that I have forgotten 2nd issue effort for a spot price of 650 smackers!!

It's probably worth it, I sold one recently I think it was £100, but that copy - I wish he'd have mentioned it having a proper stamp

What does the proper stamp look like Pete? Has it been booted on Holton?

Yes a very good lookalike on Holton but has scratched in matrix instead of a proper stamped one.

This is what i was saying the other day on here , that unsuspecting newbies to the scene get told how rare the records and are buying a few as what they think is an investment

not knowing that ebay is full of bootlegs and pressings/reissues

and its only when they come to try and sell them they realise they are worthless this in turn must drive them away !

a few years ago i sent a message to a girl who was trying to sell Lee Roye Tears on british MCA for £150 when i told her she was really abusive and asked WTF do you know ?

His Ebay name is ThomasWednesday

He should change in to Bjorn Yesterday !

I don't think that's an original: I only remember pasties, not pies, at the upstairs back bar  :g:

No flies across your face Pete.

Probably is on your pie though!

They all drowned in the ketchup!!

VG++ excluding the rivet!!!!

Just looked at this.

Surely if it's held together by a metal rivet, he could put us out of our misery and show us a picture of it.

Never seen a riveted 45. Anyone else seen one? Got a picture?

Is it standard practice in Preston?

Glyn the question should be how did it attract 12 bids  must have been war

It's in the latest Manship price guide at £115.

When I pointed this out on here I was taken to task by someone for actually pointing out mistakes!

Should have been £15, but obviously the seller gets all his info from a book, hence £115

they would look decent on the decks, better to show than the outsite.............who`d know

But your listing is pretty misleading. At no point do you state that it's actually an out an out boot.

You do say it's not one of the recent bootlegs, but you don't let the potential buyer know that it's an old bootleg.

I'd be asking for my money back if I were the buyer.

It is actually very misleading - says 'not one of the recent bootlegs' but doesn't say it's one of the older bootlegs.  Says 'not stamped matrix' - means sod all to your average Mr Ebay.

What never fails to amaze? That people would knowingly spend that money on a boot? or how easy it is to con people by not telling them it's a boot?

Mmmm... :g:

If you look at the eBay selling history of this 70s boot, you will see that the last one before this to my knowledge, sold for £123, the one before that (a gold one) £76, and there have been more sold recently at high prices. I recieved quite a number of enquiries asking if it was an original copy and I answered them honestly and told them not.

Also the buyer gave positive feedback and said they were very happy with their purchase.
