just watched the teaser,absolutely loved it,elaine and gang are a great bunch of people,what makes this film better equiped than other efforts ? elaine is a real northern lass who as been on the scene for a fair while and is a genuine northern soulie.i know what hard work as been put into this film,even down to little detail.As for the dancers, ive met some of them a few times,theyre a great bunch of kids and maybe one or two of them might not of heard of northern soul before?but i do beleive they genuinly love it now.I i wish elaine and every body involved with this film the very best. Tommo.

Again, the hairs on the back of my neck went up watching the 'teaser' & the interview is brilliant.....if anyone can do 'this thing of ours' justice in the format of a movie it is Elaine....I cant wait to see the finished movie & I look forward to it immensely........now can I get VIP tickets to the premier !!!

I for one can't wait for this film. It is a film that is being produced by the right people for the right reasons. I know that was just a teaser but it made me smile (not cringe) all the way through it.

Looks great, when it's released, hope the media treats it with the respect it deserves, I suspect not but hope so, although Soul Boy wasn't a complete turkey, it was a wasted opportunity, I'm sure Elaine Constantine step in & will produce a good movie to put things right.

It looks good.....tats on knuckles, fag smoking,naughty boy stuff and a Tony Wilson type.....got some mid seventies northern scooter scene cine footage if they want it.

From what I see this will be well worth watching. Sure looks better than grainy footage I have seen of different nights someone recorded in early to mid 70's, which Len kindly shared with me a few months back! :thumbsup:

Looks a 1000% more credible than the other efforts so far.

err ....l beg to differ.........saw a gun brandished at VA VA....theres many a fella relieved of his bomber jacket,leather coat,gear and money....and many a fistycuffs fair or otherwise knives were rather a common feature as well for use or to threaten...a lot of the love and togetherness hugs and kisses we get nowadays were not there back in the day......but hey take ya point sure this nice lady will keep it real and properly balanced can,t wait tezza

I never once felt the least bit intimidated from my first nighter at Kelmarsh, me with shoulder length hair and 100 skinheads I'd never seen before several from Corby which was as tough a town as you could wish for! There was a lot of togetherness, it was a tiny movement and if you were in it and dug it you were accepted and welcomed. At Kelmarsh this skin girl said "It's nice to see some weirdos here"; and that was a complement; I think!

Try & keep your remarks constructive buddy, Elaine is my friend & whilst I have reservations about films like Soulboy, Elaine has/is on a labour of love, so whilst your entitled to voice your opinions 'prefabricated Piece of sh*t ' is a very poor choice of words.

I agree I'm all for open debate and opinions and views from both sides, both for and against but the language used by million tears is somewhat OTT for a two minute trailer.

have to agree with this.....even the clip had a whiff of the old cheddar........as l said hope not keep it real.....maybe get some research about the seamier side.......without it, it may come across a bit like soulboy without trying tezza

Jesus all that hu ha again because bits n bobs ain't right!!!! Sorry, I am not a spring chicken anymore but if some of your old moaning armchair warriors don't like it maybe some kids may even like it like like it like even more!!! Ah result!!! Anyway if you could have Pulb Fiction with a Northern Twist I bet some people will moan about that you guys play mainly snooker in England and therefore the banging scene was wrong ;)

Nevertheless I believe it's gonna be great maybe with a few dodgy bits but hey, enjoy the ride or watch a documentary!!!! :hatsoff2:

I guess to younger people they may have appeared intimidating and some would take advantage of that but considering the make-up of that pre-Wigan scene it was still trouble free compared to a night out at the local disco with the boozed up morons.

I'm not sure why the seamier side is so important to some people, I don't think it would be the first recollection for the majority of people who attended nighters in the 7Ts, so not really that relevant for me. I'd just like to see the film given a chance and not see people pre-empt what might and might not be part of the film, we just seem to be getting grumpier by the minute..........

Hope the story lines a bit more real rather then the scene looking crap with loads of sad people -sell it to get people interested like it was

my point is....the scene must be portrayed as it was....thats all!!.......there could be a tendancy to portray it back then as it is now in some quarters nice and flowery "we're all one big loved up soul family ". Dispite what a lot think the music was NOT the be all back then as it is nowadays it was the nighters themselves that had more significance they attracted as many bad as good fellas....I am sure the lady will weave this into her film and she'll get it spot on

Soul Boy was crap before it was even made, this one was brilliant before it was even made. And now it's even more brilliant because you've seen a minutes worth of footage.

Soul Boy wasn't very good, I hope this one will be much better.

GREAT CLIP!...it certainly wets the appetite, going to be a bit of a wait before we get the finished article but it has to be a 1000 times better than the previous lacklustre offering...the headbutt is a distinct nudge towards commercial establishment interference, and, is even moreso correct right now.....GET THE KNIVES OUT NOW AND STAB THOSE BARSTEWARDS BEFORE THEY DO IT TO US! :wicked: ...so to speak. i think we're all getting excited at the prospect of for once seeing our "landscape" painted in a true perspective....it has to be about why the scene is here, why it survives and why in those tortueous early days it had to deal with its own growing pains, amidst the media furore and band wagon jumping. set against a 70's backdrop that, almost in its entireity, is a forgettable decade :sleep3: , northern soul has been escapism from run-of-the-mill, mundane life...thats what it was for us of a certain agegroup who had to endure it. so if the film, as we've seen in this trailer is setting out to make the media look as banal as they always have been, then so much the better and....if it brings an accepability of this genuine original music to a wider audience in a way that is both serious, funny and thought provoking, then we will all have reached our goal....a film that does what it says on the tin. :thumbsup:
