my whole scooter club decided to have FISC (First Impression Sccoter Club) done on the inside of our bottom lip..

any way my mate Jason went in first told the tattoist what he wanted FISC -- sat there and had it done, while we all stared in the window and door maybe 15 or so of us.. next a bloke called Mick went in and said yeh the same for me.. so he started while we all started looking at Jasons slightly swollen lip that read FIFC.. so shouted stop to the tattoist he then put FISC on mick's lip and the rest of us said sod that and run out laughing so only 2 of them had it done in thne end.. and one was wrong... best thing is my brother law worked with Jason 15 years later just by chance and I told him about the tattoo so he bought it up when everyone was down the pub one night.. My mate Jason went mad he had never shown any one the tattoo from the day he had it done...

I read some guy had swamp doggs ' if you ask me' word for word on his back. Doo Doo Doo..Du .....Doo Doo Doo.

Always loved the OKEH tatoos a few lads had. Its unique to our world, like a secret symbol.

I,ve got a large tattoo right across the bottom of my back with ~ NORTHERN SOUL ~ ............in luvly scroll writing very tastefully done!!! And also my fave track by Ruby Andrews............Just lovin you.........on my hip And also a ~ saxaphone ~ on my shoulder............with notes coming out of it...........cos i love a bit of SAX!!! Gonna get the words ~ sweet soul music ~ added to it at some point. And others but their not soulie ones

In 1974 (Scarborough) I had SOUL BROTHER tatoo`d on my left forearm with a kinda scrollie thing around it done with the old pin & ink! ....Gordon Cairns was the guy who did it.In later years I got so sick of dickheads singing "IM A SOUL MAAAN!" when they saw it I had it covered up professionally with...............a Dragon!..........how cool is that?

ihave two northern tattoos one on my leftarm which is a patch type which says northern soul keep the faith and one of a black fist and northern soul on myright arm

i remember years ago some stoke guys had the black fist with wigan casino rules o.k around it, the problem was the tattoo guy really didnt get it, he spelt wigan as wagan on all of them and they never realised till they got home

Not strictly on topic but on the subject of tattoos ...round our way in the 70's there was a bloke called Dill Dudding who fancied himself as a bit of a Hells Angel (never had a motorcycle or anything like that)

Anyway he had a tatoo of a Swastika on his face which ,because he'd done it himself in a mirror,was back to front and was in fact the Buddhist symbol for peace and prosperity.I don't suppose he was that bothered ...f*** the future eh Dill

The tattoo artist had no concept of what a Thistle looked like, and was told it was a plant with a jagged head, the guy ended up with 'Made in Scotland' on his arm - and a Pineapple.

Being a Navy Boy, where tattoo's where almost mandatory..........Ive seen some crackers.........for example the urban myth, of the guy who has 'HMS' written on his willy........but when he gets excited, shall we say, it reads 'HMS ILLUSTRIOUS'.

Has any one ever seen the traditional tattoo 'The Fox & Hounds' probably not a very trendy tattooo these day's, but its a complete back & sides of a hunt scene, horses, fences, huntsmen, scenery the whole kit & kaboosh..........with only the foxes tail visible coming out from ya ass...................!!!!!!!.

Also many years ago, some military guys would have 'f**k off' written on the outside of thier palm, so when ever they saluted an officer, instead of being a mark of respect, gave a whole new meaning !!!!!!!!.

Anyhow... Another light hearted story...My Cousin went to Barbados years back before resort really took off and a few of them went missing for 3 days with the legend Oliver Reed who was staying in same hotel. (Quite a few tales from that) .

A few decided to have tat's done with Oli and My cousin likes Cricket and supports local County side Essex so a cricket ball and the letters were suffice.

But the tatooist, who must've been on the ole 'funny smokes', left one of the C ' s off the end and reads ' E.C.C. ' Abbreviation for Essex County Council. !! Wasn't till he got home he realised the fact.

He never changed it neither.

OK lets get this right The tattoos were done in Plymouth,Aug 74 by a back street tattooist came by the name of Phil(Huge man), who plied his trade "marking"the Navy lads.

Been at the time on holiday in Newquey it seemed a good idea to pop over to Plymouth to get the said tattoos. So one bright(might not be the appropiate word to use in this thread ) sunny morning both myself and Morgan my good freind at the time landed in Plymouth.

We then set about the said streets to find a tattooist to suit our needs. First shop we came to we popped our heads round the door and asked the big question "aup duck cust reproduce this on us arm" in our best Stokie accent.To which he replied %$£^ &*^ )(*& in and £"$ %^^$ down. (translated come on in and sit the sen down) Not wanting to up set the very nice 6foot 10inch 25 stone gentleman we did.

Whats want lads said he. can you copy the design from this badge but put WIGAN instead of the Torch, so reading WIGAN CASINO (top line) RIGHT ON (bottom line) yes said he, roll up your sleeve and of he went never saying a word. To say it hurt would be a understatment, so with hand bridged over me forhead he carried on. Only looking at what he was doing for the breifest of moments, to much ink and blood to see to much, so thinking every thing is ok he carried on.

On finishing he said there you go all done covering it with a bandage told me to leave the bandage on for a day and keep it clean. absolutley delighted he had done i could not wait to get out of the chair so that Morgan could get his done.

When we were both done we payed and left.Walking back to the train station like two peacocks with our newly gotten plumage,all still covered up to keep it clean like the nice man had told us to do.Once on the train there was talk of "do you think we are the first to get a tattoo like this"and"i cannot wait to show the others" and the "Wigan lads will love this ".

After getting back to the camp site we just could not wait to take a look,off came the bandages F£$%^G B%^^KS the fat t***s put WAGIN CASSINNO WRIGHT ON not only on mine but on Morgan too

It took days for us to tell anyone else but it had to be done.Ribbing that would be an under statement.

PS I left Cheddelton mental hospital last week after34 years
