Gave this some early night spins in the past....

If you don't know this, prepare to throw away your Josie copies....

Brilliant! didn't know the Decca release was a different take! Got it on Josie (Which I wouldn't throw away mind!) But this take is Sooo much better, cheers for that Kev

to be honest Gary, for pure soul quality, the "I Can't Do Without You Side" comes out top for me

hope ya well bud, gonna miss Fraser on sat, we down at Red Bar in Wakefield

steve

.. flip to "Your Mother Understood"............

Funny enough 'I can't do without you' was the side I chose for Fraser's show last year. I'll see Fraser next week so I will pass on my regards to him.

Enjoy The Red Bar, must try and get down to this as it sounds great.

Played this one this morning first time for ages, forgot how good it was

As I mentioned earlier Harry.... PLEASE PUT THE TITLE/ARTIST in the body of your post, I can't see the videos/follow the links when I'm at work, and so miss a lot of the good stuff, because I don't have tome to go through everything when I get home!

I suppose you could always keep a list and give it to me next saturday?!

Thanks :hatsoff2:

For me this week it has to be The Puzzles (Fat back ) , what a double sider ...Initially I was attracted to My sweet baby with its smooth harmonies and treeeeeeeemendos build into a creeeeechendo of energy , and then I turned it over and found I need you , wwwwwwwwwwwwow ! so happy with this months purchase ... does it get any better ?

Must agree, both sides are most excellent!

Has anyone ever seen a demo of The Puzzles - "My Sweet Baby" - Fatback?

:hatsoff2: HI ALL,,,C is for?......CHESS RECORDS, and as always It's on BRITISH :wicked: I always seem to be crediting, my old mate, the "mouth of the south" (that's south of the river} the BERMONDSEY BARROW BOY, Mick SMITH, for being the person who turned me on to records like this one? but it's a fact! for me at least. this has to be one of the few records, that grows & grows on you, a bit like a BLACK & WHITE X RATED MOVIE, I LOVED IT FROM THE FIRST TIME IT WAS PLAYED TO ME! and in 2011/12 I could easy see a cover version of it become a HIT for some SORT with pink lippy & blond Barnett, Let's call her "SCRUFFY"?

However this RARE CHESS SOUND, comes from the voice of Benice Swanson - CHESS CRS 8008.

"LYING AWAKE" - VALUE £80 ISSUE, DEMO £ V-RARE, DK RATING *****A Perfic 60's MOD sound.

Thanks to Pete Smith's BEAT-IN RHYTHM MAG for the flyer, which states all you need to know?

This is one sometimes I play and love it and other times don't like it

Think Poke got a good deal off me when I swapped a 'Night Owl' demo for this and £15 , uuuummmmmmm(Happy days eh?)

has the funky edge that seems popular now though.

Mike Jemison - Satisfaction - Geneva

thought I'd got another version of 'Quick Change Artist' which is the other side , not quite the same though!!

Swifty
