you very rarely see a big name DJ on the dancefloor.

would the music being played be more dancefloor friendly if the DJ's were dancers too?

i am only being light-hearted here so i dont expect any logical answers

Kenny Burrell is always dancing,which I think is lovely to see, nice to watch a 'top' DJ enjoying someone elses set

Andy Dyson doesn't dance but thats only because he doesn't have the time, he is way too busy setting off stink bombs

Have witnessed him dancing at Cleethorpes back in 97 when him and his buddies had some of my rocket fuel!!! Mick Smith dances to the Utopians. Sam leaps around behind the decks - in a crazy jack-in-the-box type manner....

And actually Shane I don't recall seeing you dance... You seem to wander around alot though?

What about them that dance there sock`s of most nighter`s they attend,and never get a set anywhere,why i would like to know?,plus a lot of the jock`s turn up for there set,then bugger off,so playing what was in the previous set,then we moan like fukc when thing are played twice or even thrice at a do?.....

dj's do dance ...well i dance ...youve seen me shane many a time as for the big name DJ's?? cant explain that ..except sean chapman he's always rocking even during his own set ive seen him pput on a track and get on the floor..how many do that

As a previous winner of the DJ Dancing competition at Cleethorpes (and you can examine the cup, my name is inscribed there) you'll understand why I don't dance more often.

In fact I have been known to dance on the Sunday night at Cleethorpes, admittedly in one direction because I was drunk and couldn't work out how to go back the other way if you know what I mean.

I love dancin many a time i,ve left a venue with me feet blistered, couple years ago in Barnoldswick I danced straight through Tim Brown & Gingers spot while wearing pair of Doc Martins sandles christ I could harldly walk next day my feet where mashed, not a good combination Doc Martins --16 Bottles of Bud and two dj,s with plenty good tunes

At least you stroke your chin in time to the music - a quality I hugely admire.

you know it was a toss up between you and that Nice chap Mr C and anyway Ady has no chance of winning his own competition at Cleethorpes especially when they let me loose in the middle bending the rules,or even making them up as I go had a few moans about that and always swayed by the crowd

And you know you are only swayed one way by the smell of the bar(or nearest pint) will have to change the comp this year to something more sane like ?reccomendations please all will be thoroughly discussed before next Cleethorpes.

As for DJ's that dance ...... Dean Anderson cut's a rug quite often ..... Guy Henigan .... just LOVE watching him dance.

if they never get a set anywhere, then technically they don't dj so technically they aren't dj's

personally wouldn't employ a dj who turns up for his set and buggers off after it! they should at least show a little commitment to the event IMO

I dont want to embaress the man but I saw Dave Thorley dance in the modern room at the Nurenberg weekender and he was brilliant....that guy can move...it was the first time I`d seen Dave dance ever!

I've seen a couple of "big DJs" turn up at the last minute .. DJ ... collect their fee.. then bugger off ... so it is done .. one of these was a "BIG NAMED DJ" who turned up 2 mins before his spot at Rangers with 6 guests ( who all got in free) and then all left 2 mins after his spot .. which incidentally was shite

Good point made Andy! I for one though cannot understand how a Dj can dance and DJ at the same event
