Following on from the huge success of the "Show us your bird and wildlife photos" thread (some 31 pages and a staggering +1500 posts), I thought it time to start a "part 2".

As we don't always have the opportunities to take bird or wildlife photos, but nonetheless might be taking great photos of other things, I  thought a broader approach might encourage even more people to share their top photos.

They can be anything to do with nature, landscapes, outdoors, indoors, superb holiday snaps - basically, whatever. If you think it's a good photo and you want to share it, this is the place.

Here's three from me...

Goose - seen showing off in the woods of Amsterdam.

Sunset - as seen from our balcony last summer.

Filey, N Yorks - what a beautiful place. We were here for my younger brother's wedding.

We decided to take the dog for a walk along one of our 'Cami Cavells' (nature/country walks) this afternoon,  they can be hard work at times, but the end reward is so worth it!

Bless, he's getting on a bit now:wicked:

The wildlife here is stunning, if you like birds, butterflies and wild flowers you cannot go wrong. I have a VERY large bird circling above me, don't know what it is, but its underside is the most beautiful deep red, will try to take a photo, but I only have a 'happy snappy' camera.and he is a 'tad' too fast for me!

This  beastie was waiting on my garden step this morning.........................

No wild life in either of these at 7.34 am ET , but lovely late summer sunrise in midtown New York...... I fly back tomorrow ?

Amazing picture. Very coincidental but i found one of these on my back door step the other night. Not knowing a great deal about these creatures I was at first fairly wary of the red "sting" at the back. Obviously for show but it demonstrates how effective the animal world is at developing protective strategies.

Good evening my friend.   .:hatsoff2: Apparently they're common and the caterpillars are on the move in September and October looking for a place to hibernate over winter before emerging as adult Moths next spring.

Hiya Steve.

The one I found was making his way into the house - he was lucky I didn't step on him as I went out to feed my nightly visiting hedgehogs. I popped him in a pile of leaves under one of the shrubs. It was a beautiful looking thing. I suspect the I will only see the hedgehogs for a couple more weeks now - I have invested as much as I can in providing decent food for them, I hope they survive the winter and hibernation. They're lovely to see each evening.

I hope you and Lou are well Sir.

Peter

Had to make a half size replica of the original wing, which I finished today, all made by hand.

We are both very well Peter, thank you  suitably refreshed after our latest jaunt to Pembrokeshire. I want to go and live there. It's fantastic.

You have really looked after those hedgehogs, which will no doubt have helped them gain the necessary weight that they need to get them safely through hibernation. They will be looking for places to make a nest anytime soon as you have mentioned.

The VX was based around the S2 Lizzy, but with the Vauxhall 2.2 ltr NA Vectra lump in the back instead of the weekly HGF K series in the Elise. The VX was a fantastic car, completely ruined by the Comedy Lotus build quality.

Suz. The colours are stunning this time of the year. And you have captured them superbly. Looks like a painting.

I'm related to that Chargois fellow... my paternal grandmother was a Chargois.

They were in Law Enforcement since the 1800s in my hometown. Some still are.

This time of year, as the leaves are turning is the best looking of them all.....and the dogs love it!

image.thumb.jpg.c82456b4b66dac1d2ea2f2d9Sorry not normally a contributor on this thread, though I look now and then and flirted briefly with the bird and wildlife one a year or two ago!...Anyway I rarely take a good photo but quite proud of this one on way back from Bilbao soul weekend last Sunday night and managed to just about stay awake as we approached Stansted with this shot out the window using my old iPhone. Can't work out how to rotate it but hopefully you get the idea!  Hey great photos you guys keep posting btw.

Thank you to Steve for the invite, I've enjoyed looking through the pictures on this thread. I was saying about a video I took of a butterfly that was in my garden, at the time had no idea what it was until a friend told me, hope you enjoy watching it, Shelly xx Humming Bird Hawk Moth
