BBC drama so most have probably seen it but Blue Lights, for me, is the best Cop drama I've watched in years. Elements of classic Hill Street Blues and set in Belfast. Had me captivated from the start

  • Kin. 'kin brilliant .

The BBC four part mini-series "The Reckoning" about Jimmy Saville is a "must see".

Not easy viewing by any means but very well put together and a fantastic performance by Steve Coogan in what must have been an extremely difficult role to play.

Say it is not true, the last series of a true MUST WATCH, (UK) Ghosts.

No more 'glimpses of Fanny'? I'm going to start a petition!

Brilliant film, called 'God's Crooked Lines'

Cheers for that one Mal, watched it yesterday, as you say a long one but it holds your interest throughout, the woman with the freaky eyes when she first went in set the tone of menace for me

Killers of the Flower Moon

As George White-Bread would say "Sh*te"

Far far too long, boring and as about as engaging as a breeze block.

The only redeeming feature is laughing at LDC doing a his Marlon Drando face impression

I really enjoyed this. Not what I was expecting. Great acting, especially the mother.

Dark Hearts (BBC 4 and I Player) French series set in Iraq during peak Isis. It's a grower and very suspenseful

Film of the week for me is "Cairo Conspiracy" .

Just to note and thanks for heads up, and sorry for being anal but it's being released also as Boy From Heaven.

Napoleon is out 22 Nov. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Joaquin Phoenix. Should be very good.

"Law of Tehran" on the BBC I Player, What a wonderful powerful film, I watched it this afternoon.

Getting stuck into that now if it's still on

Law of Tehran, a compelling, magnificent piece of work. My attention span is severely limited and yet I was completely transfixed for the just over two hours. Blew me away

Is that one (Law of Tehran) in the cinemas now/ Gotta check it out if it is.

It was on the BBC I Player, If you've got Amazon Prime it can be rented for £4.99 it's definitely worth it.

Might be a bit late, but we just finished Yellowstone on Netflix. well series 1-5, ep 8, there are two they don’t have on Netflix, which was a bit crap.  Really well written Characters, well worth a binge watch if you haven’t seen it.

Check out the two very good prequel series "1893" and "1923" as well ...

I've just finished watching Dark Hearts - it ends on a cliffhanger so I hope there's a sequel! Watching Warriors now on BBC Iplayer. That's another good one - British troops in Bosnia working with NATO. Well worth watching.

So Kathryn that's another one on the list after Kin, Mike's recommendation. I'm also juggling the new series of Fargo and The Godfather of Harlem, no wonder I've been staying in at the weekends. 😀

Napoleon the other week I thought was boring and too long, was really looking forward to it but ended up being restless couldn’t get comfortable and think it is Ridley Scott’s worst film. Probably better if watched at home. Can fully recommend the 3 musketeers part one on to now possibly Netflix ? Excellent and sticks to the story looking forward to part 2. This week wonka expected to be average but was excellent thoroughly enjoyable funny and clever Timothy chalomet was excellent as wonka.

Just started to watch The Crown, really not my type of thing but have to say the casting is amazing - obsessively watching 2 episodes a night.

Season 2 of Reacher on Prime. Also 24 Hours in Poilce Custody. I can't believe people think that keep saying "No Comment" will get them off. This weeks one was quite harrowing.

Just finished series one of "Das Boot" , not particularly "christmassy" but the next three series will be my festive binge-watch ...

I watched Das Boot years ago - it was absolutely gripping from start to finish! Might just have to watch it again......

will do, they look great as well. Thats me till after Christmas then!

1893 easily the best.  For me one of, if not the, best series shows ever.

Reacher very good, it is much better than the films they made.  Far more like the books.

It was, along with the no comment the way they let them go into the interviews with blankets wrapped around them, feign falling asleep, deny that the person shown to them on video is clearly them shows the level of society they have to deal with. The one the other week where the mother had driven the murderers to the scene and back and denied knowing her own son was unbelievable, her a social worker too.

I looked into the reasons behind the "no comment" interview  and although I now understand why it is used the amount of police time it wastes when the evidence is there of their guilt should be reflected in the sentence when found guilty. If criminals knew they would get say an extra six months on their sentence after giving a no comment maybe they would think twice. I realise the law is far more complex than we as laymen possibly understand but watching programmes like 24 Hours gives me the impression that often  criminals have too many rights and the sentence doesn't always fit the crime.

On Prime I am watching, Mayor of Kingstown and Chapelwaite, 2 excellent series and well worth watching.

Just snuggling down to watch "Race for Glory: Audi vs Lancia" and I'm greeted with 'Ann Peebles - 99 Lbs' booming out over the opening credits ... nice start ...

Not quite sure why I've waited 36 years to see it , but what a fantastic film "Rain Man" is .

Best thing I've watched in years.

Another that I waited too long to watch ticked off the list.

"Stand Up Guys"  with outstanding performances by Christopher Walken , Al Pacino and Alan Arkin.

We just caught the first new episode of the Apple tv series 'Criminal Talk', a uk based series and so far am most impressed, straight on the watch list

'The Traitor' new series is again an enjoyable watch for me, though I do blank out the 'games'

Enjoying 1893 after a recommendation on here

Thought Mayor of Kingston was a bit too grim and sacked it after 1 or 2  episodes

"Criminal Record" ...

Half way through episode two but struggling to stay awake tbh ... :sleep3:

Finished watching Fool Me Once on Netflix at the weekend , it was ok , too many  "would you do that moments" for me. At one point  before the detective descends the cellar steps I found myself shouting at the Tv "the fffing light switch is right in front of you" but no, as usual in these things  out comes what appears to be the Tv detectives essential piece of kit  the torch.

Watched episode  2 now, still intrigued to see the 'down fall', but 8 episodes at this pace will be to tedious I fear.

Just finished the first series of Crime - a Simon tip. I really enjoyed this, gets better episode by episode, lots of stuff happening and some great performances from the cast. Recommended.
