Mine is a photograph of the late Herb Johnson taken by me when he played a gig in Philadelphia, in a nice frame in my music room. HJ signed a CD for me after the gig and I gave it away to a friend in error - that would have been my most treasured possession.

I'm really proud of all the fanzines I did but the thing I was most proud of was a photo of me and Russ Winstanley taken at Wigan in around October 1977, he was on the decks and I was sitting next to him, I look so young (I was 17), this and every one of my photos got lost in a house move in 1991 and I would honestly pay a thousand quid to get this photo back again, not that I ever will.

Mine was my Torch membership card but that was surpassed in February by the pics i had taken in LA at a pre Grammy event. One with Lamont Dozier but later one with Berry Gordy Jnr with his arm on my shoulder. I was trembling a bit i can tell you!

1. Issue #4 of There's That Beat! autographed by the following:

All three of the Harthon Producers (Weldon A McDougall III, Johnny Stiles and Luther Randolph).

The greatest saxophonist and arranger in the soul world Mr Andrew 'Mike' Terry.

Motown's premier percussionist Jack Ashford.

2. A picture of my good friend Alan Pollard with the Harthon Trio. Took a lot of effort to get this to happen on all our parts and it was worth every last hassle.

3. An autographed pic of Sammy Campbell, Sonny Turner, Myself and a demo of the greatest record ever played at a soul gig imo.

Greatest memory......well two actually, watching The Del Larks in NJ at the rehearsal for their first live performance. Mr Campbell nailed it BIG TIME and having lunch in Philly with Weldon, Jimmy Wisner, Billy Jackson, my good friend Dave Ferguson and our wives. We just sat back and listened to them reminisce about their exploits from back in the day. (They hadn't been in the same room for over 25 years). Three icons of Philly music hanging out with two Burnley lads. Who'd have thunk it eh? Now that was a REAL buzz!

You know my feelings about how good that weekend, having such esteemed guests as the Harthon guys, if it wasn't for you, Bev, Judi and Joanne there's know way I could have made it.

I have the photo you talk about and I still can't get my head around the way Weldon, Johnny and Luther treated us as though we were the guests they had come to see.

I know your other treasured moments mean such alot to you especially meeting Sammy & The Delarks, remember the first Hitsville Weekender where there was a Delarks demo on both decks, great memories.

I wouldn't have thought it will difficult to get There's that beat signed by the guys.

The total feeling of escapism, when you're on the dance floor at 4 o'clock in the morning dancing to a fantastic piece of vinyl .

Like others - the fact that I am still friends with people I went dancing with 1966 - 1970. We've moved all around the world but we can still get back together once in a while and dance to the same great tunes

A Ray Pollard signature on my wage slip from that week in the early 90s, when he sung to us in the 100 club.

It was a Wednesday night! How on earth had Ady managed to find Mr P ! His voice was still perfect !

It just reminds me of how short and sweet this life is!

And a wonderful night ! Just a special moment for me ! One night that I felt very special to be a part of !

And an old picture of me tony colby and my old mate pete lawson, that hangs proudly on my living room wall

also my old full length leather coat that hangs in a wardrobe at my mams can`t even get my arms in the sleeves nowadays oh and dare i say it theres also a pair of spencers soul bags 30" waist

Has to be my original doss bag from the 7ts with all its patches on, its knackered now but wouldnt part with it for all the tea in china. My original full length leather and sheepskin coats which cost my mum a months worth of overtime back then. My membership cards from venues no longer in existance, photographs, cassette tape recordings and most precious of the lot friends and memories.

Various bits of correspondence from Dave Godin in 1970 including a Christmas card supporting the workers rights ( bit left wing our old dave was!) and a postcard dated 9th Dec 1970 saying he would see me at the 'GoGo' (Twisted Wheel) on the 12th December. Jan 1971 Blues & Soul article mentions Northern Soul for the first time. A little bit of history.

Also, seem to have lost a handwritten flyer for Hernies Allnighter in Leeds where I was DJing with Dennis Billingham ( anyone know where he is now?)

The service booklet from a memorial service for Edwin Starr held at Manchester Cathedral shortly after he passed away.His son came over from the States and it was a wonderful emotional and uplifting service.It felt right that he should have been specifically recognised in Manchester given his contribution to the Northern scene.

Physically it is Johnny Bragg on Elbejay.

It took a months paperound money to buy. Looking back my matres questioned my sanity, but I like to think "I got it" from an early stage. It being Northern Soul.

Theatre tickets and autographs from artists like Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Jean Carn et. al. (and the aforementioned and gorgeous Inez Foxx!), photo of me with Martha Reeves taken in 1975, along with numerous letters and pics of friends from years gone by. Many, many "live" tapes and membership cards that still evoke memories of never to be forgotten venues.

a picture of me and Jimmy James aswell as one he sent me. lots of CD's which gave me first taste of certain songs in Northern soul and so on.

A photo of me and Sam Dees taken by my then girlfriend at the Upnorth Weekender held at Morecambe. We had been in the main room to see Regina Belle and when we walked into the soul room Sam was sitting on his own at a table near the stage. I bought him a drink had a chat and got the pic taken.

A great memory.
