Euro-Only 70S Dancers With No 45 Or Lp Release Anywhere Else?

Recommended Posts

Don't think this been done before.

Euro-only 70s dancers that were never relased anywhere else, neither 45 nor LP.

First few that come to my mind:

Wess - Good time

Nina Simone - Touching and caring (not 100% sure this wasn't releases in the states on LP)

Patrick Gammon - When can I see you

Tony Moore - When will I

Any others? There must be plenty...

Yes, there's probably more yet, but I also suspect some of the things such as released on UK Contempo & Pye might not be what Benji means - maybe more like less well known artists recorded in Europe as opposed to the UK?

...I think maybe not meaning Major Lance, JJ Barnes, Jimmy James etc. - if you get my drift? :hatsoff2:

It can get a bit difficult to tell one from another I reckon.

Or are these also OK to mention Benji?

You're right I'm more interested in lesser known european artists in the list but there's no reason to limit the list to them.

The only pre-condition I'd like to set is: euro only release, no vinyl release anywhere else (means Main Ingredient and Marcia Hines should be dropped from the list, sorry).

will try to update the list today.

another one from me:

Maurice McCormick & Maggi - The Reeaall Deeaall

OK Benji, that's fair enough - you better also leave Billy Cole out also due to the Jamaican release. :hatsoff2:

Wasn't Salena Jones released in 1970? (I'd have to check to be certain)

Maurice McCormick & Maggi - The Reeaall Deeaall

I have this on a UK label, Charly I think - wasn't there also a German release of this?

Thanks for the info re. Billy Cole, will drop it from the list. I dropped Salena Jones as it more of a 60s record to me but will put it in again. I'll try to not being to anal

Maurice McCormick did get a german release on Autobahn.

Duane Clark .. Stop! Come Around etc

This is on Spark and Barclay ... is this what you mean?

Spark UK and Barclay France? If these are the only two labels then it's exactly what I mean. Thanks!

It got a 7" and 12" release on the US label Atomic Art as well, so not one for this list I'm afraid. Great tune in any case!

Great tune. Didn't know it came out in US. But it's a european production, isn't it? Will have to check my copy at home

100% Pure Poison-You Keep Me Coming Back-EMI

Sorry, this came out on US EMI album from what I remember

But what about Thelma Houston's "Nothing left to give" - not on the US Mowest LP but was on the UK and German releases?

Unless somebody proves otherwise this is UK and german only.

I think this may qualify but dont know of a US/lp release , very credible version of Arthur Prysock.

BH

Is this a.k.a Tony Moore? Or is it a different Nat Wright? Have two lovely early 60s popcorn 45s by a singer called Nat Wright. Very unlikely this is the same bloke, isn't it?

It was recorded in the US according to Swamp Dogg (who produced it). Atomic Art was Jerry "Swamp Dogg" Williams label.

When I asked Swamp Dogg about it he said that he brought the tune to MIDEM and several european labels went apeshit over the tune "15 Minutes".

It even got a release here in Sweden!

Obviously never took off chart-wise.

its the same fellow benji..... i was looking at some pictures of him the other week and comparing them to my german picture cover....by the time he was in europe in the late 70`s he was 40 odd years old and trying to reinvent himself as tony moore....................... he failed
