I think TOJO was played at The Cats. Here's a picture of Max's copy I bought from him in about 1978.

Thats fair enough then Local, like I said, real oldies to me, didn't really know their turntable history.

The Gladiators. That Miami Sound.

Also big enough to get a pressing on Soul galore?

I certainly remember it from my formative years although can't be precise about where/when

I finally got my 4th Anniversary tape back this week and it features Alan Rhodes spot followed by Pep's, both of them play Marva Jones but it rarely got played after that really...thought it would go huge.

talking of instrumentals, wasn't the producers Lady, Lady, Lady,
(inst to what kind of lady) a wigan only sound? can't recall it being put on at Blackpool? But may be wrong, only went there a half a dozen times

ha yes..i only ever remember this from Sam's..but sure JV must've played it elsewhere..an exclusive for him..bit too fast really...

two big casino sounds from 76 ish .... 'Road to Ruin' Earl Wright...( remixed from Pretty Purdie's 'Testifyin')  and another remix 'Dress Rehearsal' van Mcoy strings..

Precisions, Such Misery.

While this is what I'd call a real oldie (so I don't know if it was first spun @ Wigan), a real clapper & got some hammer from loads of different DJs @ Wigan all the time I was going, really associate this.
