Found out last night that my ex husband, Lee Miller is seriously ill in hospital. I had popped round last night with copies of our divorce papers as he needed them for his forthcoming wedding to Sarah, unaware that he was ill.

Sarah says that he was rushed into hospital last Friday after feeling extremely unwell. He has some kind of infection that has caused his kidneys to fail, has affected his liver & he now has pneumonia. On Friday it was touch & go whether he would make it & he is still quite ill. His mum was there last night & I spoke to her, she is hoping & praying that he will pull through.

There is a thread on modculture which Sarah is printing out & showing him. I thought I would start one on here for the people who knew him & arent members on mod culture, I will print them out & let Sarah show them to him, am sure it will be a lot to him.

So heres mine:

Get well soon Lee . I knew lee from the mod scene from late 1980's / early 1990's , great guy and great DJ , Have not seen him for many years I think last time was a mod night in Bham I went to and as soon as I walked in lee was up to me like a shot " still collecting Motown " his first words.

Once again mate get well soon and I do hope to see you again.

I don't know you Lee but get well soon, you should have been awarded a medal the size of a dust bin lin for ever being married to Kirsty.

The last time I remember Lee being in hosptial we were snotty little 6 year olds and he was in to have his tonsils out - I was in the same bed a week after he got out. Not this time me old mucker!

Shocked to hear this. I've actually just managed to speak to him and he sounds like he's on the mend, although he's obviously been pretty poorly by all accounts. I'm going to pop in to see him tonight, so I'll pass on your wishes Ady.

For those that don't him - he's not only got one the best record collections in the UK he's also a mine of soul information and trivia. A dj's dj who sets the standards for others to follow. And to cap it all off he's a great bloke as well.

Many of us who have been in the American mod scene at least know OF Lee and he is universally respected I think it's fair to say. I've only had contact with him through email but I am upset to see this thread. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Went to see him last night and happy to report he appears to be on the mend. They're still doing loads of tests but apparently he's a lot better than he was. His mam was there amongst others. He's sitting up and we left him a CD player and some tunage so he's happy.

Comedy ward though. Including a senile very old dear from an adjoining ward who came in the previous night and sat in the old boy's chair opposite (he's about 75 and hilarious) in the middle of the night and thought it was a commode and left a brown deposit . She wandered in again when I was there, sat in the chair and asked the old boy "can I have a piddle" He rang the bell and she was escorted away before she had the chance for a repeat performance. Good comedy writes itself...
