Johnny Sayles - I Can't Get Enough - St Lawrence.

I've always sold this is a cheapie - £20, £25.

I'm staggered to see it in the price guide at £150 for the copy I have here (Chess distribution, Chicago address).

This is a mint original - so is that £150 price accurate - has anyone ever known a copy sell for that much?

hi pete, bought mine M- for £75 2 weeks ago, by my reckoning thats about right although some people to try to tip it over the £120 mark

maybe one of those that sells for possible more than it's actually worth rarity wise, often see it listed for ton plus, whether it sells everytime is another thing but I have seen it sell for £150.

Its a fab tune imho one of the best from that genre ,never thought this was an easy one to be honest I would say 75to 100 quid is a fair price for a mint one.

Think me & you Pete must be living in the same universe, i thought about £20 also.

I got a copy very easily for a tenner, ok it was 7 or 8 years ago but...

Saying that it would have to be a lot of money to sell my copy, such an awesome tune!

Simon

With you on that Simon

Mind you I can't believe I've been collecting long enough to be able to smugly say " .. got mine for ten quid in 1999"

Cheers

same here, its worth a tenner really, there are loads about even in 2008... saying that, you pay what your prepared to dont you... I've seen allot worse over valuations...

Mal

Hi Harry, this one on Ebay looks like a boot to me, no address at the bottom of the label.

Regards

Alan

There is Alan.... you just got to look closely under the ring wear "muck" on label  ....

I bought it for 5 UKP several years ago of course and always had it as a (quality wise miles a head) kinda cheapie classic. When Tim Brown was guesting at the Hip City in 2003 it was one of the first tunes to get him on the dancefloor and after he told me that this is currrently (2003) experiencing a great reveival and he sells them for 100 UKP.

i think thats a fair price pete, i was after one for a while and couldnt find a proper one with the address at the bottom for under £100, when i eventually found one at £75 i jumped at it, so from recent experience...yes the price is good, for both seller and buyer

Have you shook hands on that deal Pete??

How about i make it worth yer while and say....an extra tenner

Sorry Pete ,could'nt resist

Good to know Pete

In light of the credit crunch ,rising food prices and me moaning about how much our weekly shop comes to,

Wife insisted i should help with the shopping this morning

Wasnt all bad though, i made a contribution..put TWO tins of hotdogs and Two packs of hotdog buns in the trolley

Im now officially barred from the weekly shop

Sold mine for £60 the other day, wish i hadn't really cause i'll not get another one for any cheaper than that, took a while to go as well.

Great record!

This is truly, truly one of the most uplifting proper nothern soul masterpieces (IMHO). I focus my collecting on Detroit, but I never, ever tire of this one - it is in my top 10 ph34r.gif
