Which Northern Record do you want played at your funeral?

I've told all of my kids that I want Alexander Patton "A lil loving sometimes" played at my funeral as my main song. There are a couple of other things on the list too.. records to be playing as people come in etc, but as I want to be cremated, It's the Alexander Patton I want to be played LOUD just before/as I dissapear behind the curtain/door to the "hot room"

Just wondering if anyone else had made this decision or what songs you'd pick.

Cheers,

Paul

I've had three funeral songs picked out for a good while. There's no Northern, but to me they are very 'soulful' in their own way. I want people to cry lots when I die. So, my choices are designed to

Answer as always, the best record ever recorded ...

What, I Saw The Light by Todd Rundgren?

Though that's a hauntingly good record. I cary grant you.

is that that 70s modern stuff?? done 40 years ago??

Or something more up to date...??

More importantly who gets the record collection when we've gone? Needless to say I don't have any but Hubby has some amazing tracks. X

Ps Sorry to digress. I have also told Hubby that along with dancing on his ashes I'm going to take my all time favourite track (Gimme Some Lovin -The Deltones) out of his collection and with a silver/gold pen write KATRINA'S on the middle of it..... sn***** X

It will be predictable for me with 'Time will pass you by' Tobi Legend.

Away from Northern Soul I heard a story on Radio 4 when I guy arranged for the conveyer belt to stop on the way through to being burnt, everybody at the funeral gulped and then the 'Hamlet' tune played! total quality!!!

With a bit of luck they would have the wake before the funeral and then play the Subway Riders "After The Session" when I go through the flame grill.
