What a loss!.......I can remember sat alone with headphones on listening to Love to Love you Baby and working up a sweat.

RIP lady soul :hatsoff2:

RIP Donna - Disco Queen of the highest magnitude.

Very sad, very young. RIP :(

That's sad news and a great loss !

MrC states it perfectly...Disco Queen of the Highest Magnitude indeed !

the consumate disco exponent, this is a devastating loss,...i guess she will, in many ways, be the soundtrack to the majority of us, that symbolised the developement of 70's boogie, right at the cutting edge and everyone else followed. she was a global superstar whose catalogue pre-empted the madonnaesque 80's, she could turn her hand to any style and had a scintillating, soaring voice, that became, and still is, instantly recognisable...this is such a shock...how many of us truely had an inkling that she was so seriously ill?

such immense talent taken from us at an age that we now consider relatively young, god rest your soul great lady.

How sad... :( who can still remember the first time they heard Love to Love You Baby???l...wonder how many babies were concieved to it :wicked: ....RIPdisco diva....Delxxxxxx

RIP Donna Summer - Queen of disco!

Remember buying the "Donna Summer" album when it first came out (1976?) & playing it over and over again.

What a sad loss at such a relatively young age

RIP Donna what a singer. Played her records in the 70' & 80's when Djing & still do at soul events. Never forget her emmy winning tune " Last Dance"

Sad news. Gone way too soon...but the music lives on. RIP

Think we all (us blokes) did................

I Feel Love was years & years ahead of it's time & single handily influenced a generation of music production.

It certainly influenced me when i first heard Mr Levine & Co spinning the 12' at the Ritz all dayers long before it hit the charts.

The girl from Boston was a class act RIP.

Aid.

RIP DONNA SUMMER (LADY SOUL)

Yet another sad loss at an early age, R.I.P Donna

Sad loss. great voice and great song writer RIP

pete waterman doing a bio on her at the moment bbc.

rip donna.

ricky.

RIP Donna. She made some fantastic music.

Her first album was, along with the Ohio Players 'sticky' stuff, one of the few non-northern things I bought in the 70's. Brilliant voice. Sad news

yep, hearing this for the first time at the ritz was one of those 'what' moments that will always remember, in fact 8 mins of what

the guardian has a sort of interesting mainstream look at the track here,

https://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2012/may/18/donna-summer-i-feel-love

also while perhaps not her finest work, but another memory that stays will be the story line of the "hostage" and the determinded efforts we made trying to decipher what she says at the end

sad news
