Keeping a low profile nowadays Julie, hope your fine.

Just had a look on the tour dates though and there ain't much for the East midlands

One of the TBA date's might be Leicester John. Not confirmed yet but it's possibly De Montfort Hall. Showing as blank dates on their site so err, watch this space as they say....

Seems strange to pay up to £60 to see a shaven chimp who used to piss about with Judy garland. It's a nice line up but I really don't want to waste my time listening to him name-dropping and talking crap like he did when he was in that jungle crap. if it is just the music then yes please.

 ,i thought i was a grumpy barsteward.!!!

To be honest I don't mind the David Gest shows although it is very much a conveyer belt system... act one - two songs and off, act two two or three songs and off, act three etc etc. The only down side to this new show is that it is just Little Anthony without the Imperials. Now that is such a shame. Also the only Northern track you are likely to hear would be "Better Use Your Head" and I would have thought that unlikely.

Just my thoughts of course

David gest had the crowd in stitches at butlitz earlier this year. He dressed daft, he looked daft, but he's a clever guy with pedigree. I can't see little Anthony belting out 'better use your head'. But what a pleasure it will be just to see and hear him on stage.

It does mention Better Use Your Head in the advertising!

Guest Invictus

“Gest confirms he will bring 10 Motown and soul legends on UK-wide tour ”

“Gest says: “I am thoroughly excited about my most extensive tour of the UK ”

As far as I can see not a UK tour but an English and Wales tour..

You’r a fanny Gest

Scheduled for Motherwell on 16/2.  Might have done better in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Two shows on the day too, bit optimistic hoping for turnout at 5pm I think.

love little anthony 60s tracks what I great voice, but its 2014 don't know how old he is, but as one of the best releases title goes "its not the same"

and you "better use you head" before forking out for a ticket.....lol

Saw him with the Imps(original line up) a year or three ago in Baltimore and he/they sounded fantastic.

A very professional show. Which you would expect as they are regular performers @ Vegas

Cheers Paul

I WENT TO ONE OF HIS SHOWS AT hAMMERSMITH A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. sAID TO MYSELF I'D NEVER GO TO ONE AGAIN, BUT IT WAS THE AUDIENCE NOT THE ACTS THAT WERE THE PROBLEM. HOPEFULLY AT A BUTLINS IT WILL BE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SEE THE ACTS RATHER THAN DAVID GEST!

Did u say that Paul or sing it "Never Again"

Bognor Regis for us and if he sings Hurt so Bad that will be enough for me ....

Bearsy, I'd so some checking up on that Bognor date.  Don't want your ticker going all loopy again when you Marie and Hercules rock up to find it's a 90s revisited event .  Although, with your collection you'd probably get a DJ spot  :wicked:

Although shown on the tour dates, when we looked to book the soul weekender wasn't showing for Bognor on Butlin's site.................... don't think it is now either.

Ahh sheeet, we've gone and  booked advance train tix for a mission to N Wales now so can't change plans.  Have a gooden Paul - and have a Happy 65th birthday whilst you are there  :wicked:

I did check again on the Butlin's web site and it doesn't seem to mention the soul acts, just the rather dodgy looking 80's shindig.  There again if the Keith Harris geezer listed is the one with Orville, you'll have a great time. Watch out as well for the tribute to George Michael act - you don't want some geezer sneaking up and noshing you in the khazi  :D
