February 22, 200916 yr theres no pleasing some people i thought i'd heard a lot worse, with a lot bigger price tags I think if you're going to make a statement like that you really ought to name the records your referring to. Who knows, people may even agree with you, but you need to be specific
February 22, 200916 yr Oh dear! Dickie Valentine, or Matt Munro perhaps? Whoever it is, it has no place on the soul scene, sorry.
February 22, 200916 yr this is a joke, yes? I'm hoping that is a statement rather than a question Dave! When I gave Gary Rushbrooke the Monticellos to play out I was unsure about the response it would get - clearly I needn't have been if something like that can be considered. on second thoughts just call it Doni Burdick! Best, RB
February 22, 200916 yr Not for me ,but i can see where your coming from. There was a phase where somethings, not too dissimiliar was creeping into the scene Only thing i can compare it with is "LEAVE ME ALONE" BABY WASHINGTON Belgian pop......let's leave it in Belgium
February 22, 200916 yr Author I think if you're going to make a statement like that you really ought to name the records your referring to. Who knows, people may even agree with you, but you need to be specific dosent look like anyone would agree with me oh, except my granny

February 22, 200916 yr You might get away with it in some of the R&B rooms, as long as it fits in with the rest of the set
February 22, 200916 yr Author oh well, back in the box. looks like its had in 15 minutes of fame . no wonder it was a b side i'll see what i can try tomorrow, something a bit more soulful. i'm sure i've got a copy of "hostage" or "joe 90" somewhere alan and don't worry it wont be being played in a club near you, well not unless your granny takes ya
February 23, 200916 yr I like it! It's not Soul, ok, but lovely little early 60s pop beat ballad, exactly the stuff my wife collects.. Wouldn't mind if you can tell me real artist and title, deffo a pressie for the missus' upcoming birthday jeez!!!! If I had known people actualy pay for stuff like that. I started listing a load of dross like that as Pete S was looking for british w/demos. There must have been about 60 mint demos and another 100 or so mint issues that all went down the tip last week. All sixties pop stuff that has been sat in my shed for God knows how long doing nothing but wasting space

Anyone with nice original copies of "Blessing in disguise" and "Love another girl" for me? benji its the flip side to a reissue of "blessing in diguise" theres a link to a copy somewhere re-issue is as cheap as chips no idea of the original, by marty richards, by the way i was just being "mardy" and using it to make a point alan
February 23, 200916 yr Author just 'cause it got an ok'ish track on the other side dont make the original song you put up any better - it was the flip you asked about, and it's still shite imo makes for a good discussion though
February 24, 200916 yr Mitch Ryder did a superior version of Blessing In Disguise on DynoVoice 901 Superior? I think it's sh*te when compared to Hal Miller. But each to their own as they say. Anyway, the one that Pete S posted as "Hal Millers Dad" is the Mitch Ryder take if anyone's interested...
February 24, 200916 yr ouch ! just listened & have to say amazed that anyone could suggest playing it out truly dreadful
February 24, 200916 yr good man ken , i know of two others for sale one as cheap as that one, and one considerably more alan Is Ken not joking?
February 24, 200916 yr Author Is Ken not joking? its the hal miller he wants, not the original posted, thought i'd get that straight.
February 24, 200916 yr Author ouch ! just listened & have to say amazed that anyone could suggest playing it out truly dreadful the question was would it. could it or has it been played out the answer was a resounding NO to all three i know its not a soul record, but, with such a liking for early r&b sliding into the scene i thought i'd ask to my ears at least, some tunes seem to really slow compared with times gone by as a tune i didn't think it was that bad, and i doubt the company who issued it with Hal Miller on the flip did either ( this is off a re-issue, no idea of original) oh well, how wrong you can be seems 99% of replies disliked it i won't stop disliking it because it doesn't fit in, and i 'll take all comments on board, and thank those replying for their honesty thank you alan
