September 12, 200618 yr All the mentioned ones fantastic & i think i agree with the person who picked "Landslide" as the most rousing One other i liked though was "The Four Perfections - I'm Not Strong Enough", sort of gave you time to comb your hair & straighten your tie before you made for the dance floor

September 12, 200618 yr I obviously like the understated intro's. Martells - Where can my baby be and of course Rufus Lumley - Stronger than me. Maybe its the base. To me its like the build up in your groin before an orgasm. Another intro I like but not really a musical one: Ladies and gentlmen, I know the custom has always been To introduce a spokesman to you Before the story begins So with no further ado, let me introduce myself to you I'm Doctor Love.

September 12, 200618 yr Biggest intro EVER just has to be ... THE INVITATIONS "SKIING IN THE SNOW" !!!!!!!!!! Edited September 12, 200618 yr by sunnysoul
September 12, 200618 yr Biggest intro EVER just has to be ... THE INVITATIONS "SKIING IN THE SNOW" !!!!!!!!!! Love it or loathe it ( & i still love it, don't care) still a fantastic intro If by biggest you mean longest, i think "Eddie Holman's" album version of "This Will Be A Night To Remember" must come close to that accolade.
September 12, 200618 yr Del larks. Job opening. Long enough to put your drink down in midconversation (ie bullshit) and hot foot it for the dance floor. PS Always thought it the greatest thing bout NS scene was that in the middle of a conversation at a niter if you heard the intro to a record you just HAD to dance to, you could just get say 'gotta dance to this' and head to the floor - and the other person would TOTALLY understand.
September 12, 200618 yr You keep me hanging on -The Supremes...so simple but sooooooooo good Lookin for a woman - The Brooks Brothers Nobody But You - The Wooden Nickles The Inros-stop look and listend and the best ever... Ciggarette Ashes - Sir James Conwell Esq

September 13, 200618 yr Nobody but me Human Beinz Nothing can compete with this intro surely? Yup. Rainbows - Help Me If You Can on Capitol - booted as Detroit Shakers - Help Me on Soul Cat. Even more frantic than the 'Beinz. Feckin' barmy record these days but as a fifteen year old stamping about in the youth club... Godz
September 13, 200618 yr Devotions "De dop de do". Or "de do de dop" or whatever- the old Magic tones c/up. Mighty rousing all the way, from jangly start, to finish
September 14, 200618 yr Invitations "Look On The Good Side" Great Intro' Great shout I always think the girls wailing 'Are you ready, to be loved' is a clarion call to the floor for Ernie Lee Banks anthemic groover also. One intro that always makes me smile is to Inez and Charlie's 'Tightrope'. Was anybody at the Derby Tiffs all-nighter when Colin Curtis was playing his new release stuff to virtually no response - the place was absolutely rammed as well. He then followed the Philly All-Star's 'Clean up the Ghetto' with Tightrope and I've never witnessed such a melee to get to floor - before or since. Great bank holiday doos though them Derby Tiffs doos
September 14, 200618 yr Paulette-Love You Babe-Contact Good shout Tony..... And you gotta be quick onto the floor for this or you've missed half of it before you know it!
September 14, 200618 yr Benny Lattimore - Girl I got news for you. Also intro-wise and not yet mentioned - If I could Only be Sure - Nolan Fred Porter ..
September 15, 200618 yr How about the Montclairs "Hey you"(dont fight it). Sublime intro which is not really in keeping with the rest of the track but works a treat imho.
For me i find the intro to living a lie the high keyes hits the spot for me the songs ok but the intro is superb
