Can anyone help with the results of Tim Browns latest auction that finished today. Thanks. Chris.

He usually sends an email out a few days later with the results. If he does this time, and I get the email, I'll add to this thread.

Also, Tim's doing 2 auctions per month at present.

Cheers

Starting bid was 500 quid for the harper bros 45,does that mean someone paid that for it?

ive had that 45 a few times, pretty poor record really,i doubt you could ever interest a floor with it! So im surprised someone would pay that for it,maybe a 100 quid record at best!

Well, Keb had a go at filling the floor with it in 1982, as it was his James Shaw c/u.  Here is that very copy.  As Dobber points out, it isnt much of a floor filler and as I remember thinking back to the 80s, it didnt do much for Mr Darge either.

Love Johnny Hampton.  Unfortunately one that I have never had the pleasure of owning and probably never will now its reaching these prices. Don't see many for sale and never have done, how rare it actually is  I don't know but definitely a tough one

Agreed...great record...didn't realise it was fetching that money..not surprised, and possibly would of gone for more on Mr Manships??...thank you...Rob

First time I heard Johnny Hampton was in the mid 70's Wigan Casino main hall.  Richard Searling played it right after Ronnie McNeir.

I thought those are the kind of records I want!👌

Snagged one from Brad Hales in Detroit on Discogs a couple of yrs ago 'ish - dead of night UK - $1100 - rang him at the shop - confirmed and paid over the phone - so disappeared from listing there and then - never had one before or since - thought it was a bargain - actual pulse racing as I made the call - absolute elation when it arrived 10 days later - what a sound

It is far rarer than the likes of Cecil Washington yet seen people saying it was expensive, I thought it was more than reasonable, cheap in fact looking at the prices Cecil, Hamilton Movements and Magnetics has been fetching of late.  When was the last time they saw a Johnny Hampton for sale?  Been a few years for me.

Agree there Karl and a much better record in fact the dance floor is very divided on CW

Totally agree mate. It's definitely a tough one and like you,  I can't remember the last one I have seen for sale.

There was one on the sales section a year or two ago. Think it was Ex+ and was around £1700.  I was tempted to go for it, but decided to leave it in the end.

Your right though, it does not come for sale very often!

If anyone has a copy around the 100 mark I would pick it up… interested for the slower flip side which admittedly is also never going to light up a dance floor 😀
