Got an email this morning and my 1st thought was “here we go again 🙈” after the chaos of last time! Anyway despite having a few items chalked off the 2 orders I made previously, I thought I’d have a mooch…

Maybe it’s just me but looked like all the decent stuff off his website has been hoovered up. Only saw one record I would possibly have bought at half price with everything else falling in to the “already got” or “not interested in” category.

As per previous there’s plenty of records on there you can get cheaper elsewhere even with the discount and does seem to be an awful lot of crap and bang average fodder amongst what’s left even allowing for the fact others may disagree with my tastes.

Have some of you got nowt better to do than complain? Buy something or jog on for ffs.

John gave a “heads up” post on Facebook early today, well before 8am, and I think the discount code appeared around 10ish so likely a lot will be sold by now

still got his first printed catalogue back when he had the shop wasnt that great result back then did not get them all ... however had some bloody good stuff off him over the years and used the current auction all good for me...

I placed an order yesterday so will wait and see what transpires this year.

The sting of the last debacle has ceased so I chanced a quick gander on Discogs.

Sadly, the half prices of what I wanted were still an absolute liberty so I shall spare myself the tedium of entering into this ridiculous charade again.

I put an order in yesterday for one record. Only a cheapie so hopefully won't be a problem.

Ordered 3 records, all cheaper than the average going rates. Thi slightly more than 12 hours after publicly announcing that my record buying days are behind me.

Must admit, a few records did seem over-priced at the 100% rate, slightly under the going rates when discounted. I did enjoy the shopping experience though 👍.

does make me laugh though on post orig £5 now £8.95 ,big difference but anyway ...

Ordered a 45 late on wednesday night with half price sale,got it today friday! Thats with the cheapest postage to....cant fault that service at all!

Mine arrived Wednesday so no complaints here, mind you, the records I ordered in Johns Boxing Day sale arrived in less than a week

Order placed 14th , via Johns Discogs site , completely forgot about the 50% sale . 16th a 50% refund & a notice of both refund & shipped , 17th record in the postbox at the normal postage rate , in the condition stated , credit where credits due .

I bought a uk fontana Sandy Wynns - arrived today

I have just snagged the second cheapest uk fontana ever listed going by discogs

It is fab condition - I could not be more happy

Got a couple of other uk bits on way that I am really looking forward to adding into the uk section

To be honest I always pick through his site listening to stuff and mentally making notes etc, picking out what I want and buying the odd thing anyway.

So I sort of know what is on there that I would like, so when he does the half price and I think this is the third time he has I'm not scrolling through the most expensive tunes and going down the tree from the top trying to find a bargain as I already know what he has which I want anyway.

So really happy with the few great bits I have snagged off him this week

Ordered a few of his web site on Sunday (nothing rare). Not got them yet, but not getting worked up about it -- I've waited 50 years to add some of 'em back into my collection, so a few days added wait isn't of any concern.
