Hi all

I thought that I'd open this up to share LP only tracks that you may be aware of.

Obviously because of the nature of LP's they don't tend to get as many spins.

Best Mick

Their version of Just Walk In My Shoes is simply fabulous... Though the version on YuoTube isn't the right one.

There is another good track but the title escapes me at the minute!, not an easy LP to track down, be lucky! :-)

Cant see that anybody has put the Aussie only Sue Barker LP up, two tracks of note, Groovin, which is a cover of the well known now 'Standard' I guess, great version, and the Brilliant 'Love to the People'... this LP is/was pretty common in Oz, I came across quite a few copies in my time there, but these days it goes for sill money on Ebay, i paid $60 Aud, which I thought was too much at the time, never been any logic to record collecting has there...

Oh thanks for posting this had it on tape many years ago of Richard Foster he turned me and my brother onto more kinds of soul music always be grateful to him and Jan Barker too the line at the end hit me like a hammer when Eddie sings "your love is like cancer, spreading all over me"what a depth of mind to write that...brilliant deep soul..

Dave L

Love it Greg. Simple instrumentation and pure cool vocals.

When does it date from (it has the feel of one of those 70's gospel tracks that took it's inspiration from 60's soul) ?

Agreed, it's just dripping in soul....dated from 1979.

  • 1 month later...

What about 'You Know The Score' - Willie and The Mighty Magnificents

Isn't this Lp track only and the album itself is as rare as hen's teeth too?

I remember this being a play of either Alex Jones or Phil Wainwright late 8t's. Alex if my memory serves me!

Just noticed a few mentioned above that were also on 45s:

Temptations - "Heavenly" - Gordy

Ray Barretto & Prince Phillip Mitchell - "What Part Of Heaven Do You come from" - Atlantic

Prince Phillip Mitchell - "You're all I got in the world" - Atlantic

Great songs all the same!
