Only missed two times in the two and a half years I went there, and that was only because I had flu.I wouldn't be that obsessed these days.

The true is I was frightened of missing something

Probably less than I think as I was more of a regular at the EASC nighters , Yate etc etc .............So I would guess maybe 50 times (?)

went from second night till it closed about every 2 weeks

also a lot of the fridays too

You sir are the cheeky bastard I never went I was from down South and far to posh to attend such a shit hole, now if you are refering to that lanky fresh faced teenager from Reading who was lead astray by slightly bigger boys from the North of England then yes he did go for a solid three years from 1976 - 1979 but I never liked the twat personally lol think he ended up DJ'ing all over the place, fat bastard now hardly goes anywhere but from what I understand he still has some very tasty tunes lol

Most Saturdays from early 74 2 am start till 78 ish and a few fridays as well .

TWO AND A HALF twice during 1979 and got half way to the Xmas 79 one , but me and me mate got beat up at Derby train station , by travelling Chelsea (i think , certainly Londoners) fans , feeling hurt and missing our train to Crewe we returned on luckily the last train back to Wellingboro. Scared us so much never felt like going again ...but apparantley it was crap after then anyway ....not my words just what ive heard

I had never thought about it but it would be quite a few times used to go to the oldies as well, i would say at least 50, but maybe more from 74 onwards we used to just do the Mecca more or less every week also did a few cleethorpes.

never made it, was too young then work took over. my brother got there once and i had loads of freinds who went but i stuck with the local niters, we still got the big name dj's plus a lot of the good Scottish ones, whom i think were better:whistling:

Neither , it was the charming social intercourse with the natives in the car park that had me hooked

Just about every week for 3 years from the second week of its opening.

Till to many ass holes jumped on the band wagon.Not to say some good soul people still attended after that but the place and the hard core crowd where being exploited by the media and some of the DJs sorry to say. I ask myself dose it matter if you went only once or a hundred times as long your listening to the stuff thats got SOUL and gets you up and on the floor thats wot counts.

trying to get there every two or three weeks, and I really used to have difficulty in getting to work on the Monday.

me too, only 16 as well, went about 6 times, then it shut down (the september "last one"), just my luck, still it must have made an impression cos i,m still doing it

almost every oldies night and maybe half a dozen saturdays in its last 18 months . though i was very lucky to live so close by (west yorks)

i remmember a plymouth crowd we used to sit/dance near being quite disgusted that we didnt go everytime it opened its doors seeing as we lived so much closer than them and they coudnt make it as often . they probably thought we were part timers looking back

i do remmember though being really impressed at how far folks would travel . some hitchhiking many 100s of miles to get there

and i also remmember people turning up in stolen cars too
