I love the RIKA (Tommy Bush "I Don't Like It") label design and colours, and I love the US Black Issue labels of MGM & RCA

Any UK red and white demos.

Also some of the great Pama labels like Punch, Bullet, Escort, so much more imaginative compared to the oh so dull plain blues and blacks of most UK labels

i'll take this opportunity to correctly spell the word 'LABEL'

I love the Mar-v-lus explosion label.... Gordy "badge" Demos... and Brunswick Yellow Demos.

Always liked white & red General American ala Velvet Satins, think it's the swirl on the turntable that does it, same applies to British Spark.

Love Blue Cat, Impact, Mel Brit's Fip ain't bad, like M-S (Eddie Hill) Stateside has something classy about it, especially demos.

My favourite has to be Soul Hawk, got a Jimmy Soul Clark 'winner' on that & would rather look at it than play it.

Cheers

Aid.

This does it for me.....the Rika is the most striking but alas, ain't got one!

Could some kind Soulie post a mint Tommy Bush so I can have it as a screen saver!!!

UK Deep Soul label.

UK labels with Gold writing, like London, Parlophone, Pye International, Chess, Columbia, etc

I would have to think about it for a while before coming up with the "best" but two really nice ones are Satch and Windy C

Sure-Shot all the way!

one of my faves mate

another totally awesome one is the cap-city label with the color drawing with the washington monument (I know there were a bunch of cap-city label designs but that one was amazing).

one of my faves mate

another reason the sure shot label was awesome was that it had the two guns on it and don robey was famous for supposedly having two guns on him all the time

spot on..

may not be considered as exotic as some, but there is something bout Pink Decca demos. Other than that Old Town Demos just have that I want factor... Cap City on Pat Johnson is really nice, and I think Johnny Barnes has a slight label design change as well, which is magnetic!!!

USA records, what can you say, sound stage 7 black issues, Red Coach, Kapp Demos, maurci for the pink / white issues, and Musette..

I like the Magic City blue issues with the Magic City in Multi-coloured writing. Like Thelma Lindsey, Bonnie Brisker and Cynthia/Imaginations.

Also like the Peacock label and Pzazz.

The Carmen label is absolutely beautiful with the pink and silver.

I love the simplicity of the compass label

RCA Stockers,

Multi Coloured V.I.P.,

DERBY,

DESIREE,

CANTERBURY West Coast Promo's - so precise, perfect printing, glossy labelling.

The Tower label as per the design of 'World Column' (Issue or demo) immediately springs to mind for me!

Think it has something to do with looking down from the balcony at Wigan and seeing it spinning round on the deck and totally mesmerising me!

Corny I know but there are certain things that stick in your mind and that's one of those for me

I've hundreds more which I'm sure will come to mind very soon but that was the first!

started collecting it, in the 8ts, just because of it monty python style graphics, top pick

I can dig loads of opinions on this thread, black rca's, red and white's, mar v lus ( one der ful is tasty too) but personally I've always been a sucker for labels with photo's of the act on them, ala, maskman and the agents, and the lovelites release to name but too. I started collecting a canadian house label on this basis, loads had black and white photos of the act on em, and had to get the lot! sad man that I am.
